Dear Lord please help ... ;-)

Merry Christmas everyone, thanks for putting up with this thread.

I know it is tedious sometimes, but it makes me chuckle.

And finally, a Merry Christmas to all of you on the NC700 forums from my wife (2016 NC700x) me (2018 NC750x), our foster son Kobe (too young to ride) and from Santa too.

A few years ago I broke my collarbone in an unexpected dismount from a horse. The first question I asked the doctor was how long until I can ride my motorcycle again. The second was if he could sign the forms I needed to claim Short Term Disability from my work med insurance. Priorities.

I can relate. In March 2007, I got kicked in the upper chest area by a 1100lb Thoroughbred. Broke my collarbone in more than 3 places (all clean breaks,,,they want to operate to pin....nope, nada, nilch), broke 2 ribs at the meeting point of the spine, bruised heart (probably why I developed AFIB a few years later) and lungs....only stayed in hospital for 2.5 days, back to work in 5 days (arm in sling and a rib belt on). I had a motorcycle trip planned the following May (approx 6 weeks to heal)....Told the wife, I am riding on that trip, no matter what...and yep I did. Rode about 1200 miles in 4 days on a Suzuki GZ250 (no trailering). None of the bones were completely healed but healing and they ached (ribs hurt for a longer period than the clavicle) but I rode...One thing, after all these years, I know when a thunderstorm is coming in the summer.....clavicle starts aching like a somabitch....

It was maybe my 3rd time on a horse. I was "impressing" my then-girlfriend-now-wife. It was a Norwegian Fjord, so not an overly large horse, but I just so happened to land right on the point of my shoulder and buckled the bone. Greenstick fracture, so a small amount of bone was still attached, and everything went more or less back into place. Slight crook to the bone and a little bit of a bump at the former fracture site. The doctor actually brought a bunch of med students to look at my case on one of my last visits because they are somewhat uncommon I guess. I can definitely sense impending weather in the shoulder region, too.
Another fun outcome is that was how my wife learned to drive manual shift, as I refuse to own an automatic (at least as long as I can help it) and I was unable to operate the gearshift.
