Helmets, speakers and ear plugs

I am running Cardo slim system and Nonoise earplugs that have ceramic inserts to filter noise. I can hear music(not often, find it distracting), GPS or phone calls with ease.

On a related topic sometimes my earplugs are pulled out as I put on my helmet.
Watching MotoGP I noticed several riders putting their thumbs over the ear plug to hold it in as they put the helmet on.
It works.

Glad you dredged this one up from the past! I have a very cheap bluetooth audio only (no communications) headphone set up in my helmet. I never once considered ear plugs might make the audio better. On a recent trip last summer I rode through the 80mph sections of Utah and found traffic making me sustain above that for long stretches. With the headphone set up I was still able to hear the music but just barely. Wish I would have tried some ear plugs.
