******EVENT CANCELLED. SEE POST #11.*****
I’m posting to judge interest in a Hillbilly Hangout event for 2019. This would be about year number 6 for this event, but last year’s was cancelled due to lack of interest. Prior years had attendance of around 8-14 people.
The Hillbilly Hangout happens in April in north central Arkansas, USA. It runs Thursday-Sunday, around tax day, so for 2019, it will be April 11-14. The original venue was The Hub, an old motorcycle friendly hotel at Marble Falls, Arkansas. The Hub changed owners and is no longer motorcycle friendly, so a local forum member Bug Dr. found a nearby campground, Shady Oaks, that would fulfill our needs. Shady Oaks is just south of Harrison Arkansas, and has RV sites, tent sites, and a few small cabins for rent. I stayed there twice last year and the owners were very friendly and accommodating. Last year’s Hangout was cancelled due to lack of interest, but I went anyway and enjoyed a great week of camping and riding. I plan to go again this year whether a group event happens or not.
Here is a thread about last year’s non-event, and there are threads for priors year’s Hangouts. Search on Hillbilly Hangout. Hillbilly Hangout 2018

The riding in the area is awesome. It covers the southern Ozark mountains and the Buffalo National River area. Roads are nicely maintained; the curves are there but generally less tight than in the Smokies. My favorite feature is that the traffic and congestion are extremely light. There are a few destination lunch stops that make for great day rides, the best being the Oark cafe.
Reply to this thread if you have an interest in an Arkansas get-together this spring. The extent of organizing for the event will be determined by how many members are serious about attending.
