I am “the Admin’s Wife” and I want to share with you a project that is near and dear to my heart.

Over a year ago I came in contact with a group that rescue’s street dogs in Brazil. As you may or may not know Admin and I have 3 dogs. In fact 3 dogs and 2 cats. We would probably have more but don’t have the space. My heart breaks when I see how horrible some animals are treated and if I could I would save them all.

Anyway, I began to follow the work of a couple in Brazil that spend their time rescuing street dogs from horrendous situations. One dog that comes to mind was where the abuser threw boiling water into his eye and ear and the burns left such bad tissue that maggots began eating away at it. This poor dog was found on the streets starving. The work of this rescue restored him to health and he has since been adopted and is living a wonderful life in the US. There are many stories like this.

Jan and Carlos who run this shelter lost their home during the Floods in Brazil years ago. They are currently about to be evicted from the house they are renting because it is being sold. This leaves them on the street with over 50 dogs if another location is not found. A group of us are trying to raise funds so that we can help them buy a farmhouse that would allow them to continue their work.

Please check out their website: http://www.dogsinbrazil.org/ and Facebook Page : https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dogs-in-Brazil/199454320100596 you can also follow them on Twitter: https://twitter.com/emmydib

If you would like to help out, or are interested in their work, or know of any organizations that would like to sponsor this work effort, please pass this information on.

Thank you for your help.

  • Founded by Jan (originally from England)and Carlos Cabral, Dogs in Brazil is a small shelter that rescues street dogs in Brazil. They lost their home during the flood and have since had to move from place to place. Despite being in dire financial circumstances, they take in all kinds of dogs that need them most, from tiny puppies to old ones, and pay for their medical care, feeding, and housing. They also take in many cases of unspeakably abused animals--Simon, who had boiling water thrown on his eye and ear , Murphy, who was slashed with a machete; and a litter of puppies who had actually had their eyes poked out--to name just a few. The goal of this page is to raise enough money to help Jan and Carlos buy a permanent home for them and the animals so that they can continue their wonderful work and not be left homeless with 51 dogs who will not survive back on the streets some are elderly or disabled. Please find it in your heart to donate if you can every $ helps and share their plight to everyone you know hoping for a miracle or two here but they say if you beleive in miracles they do happen! Warm regards,

thank you for doing this. I also care a lot about animals and environment as well, cant care for one without caring for the other. dogs are not the only victims, elephant, tiger, orangutan, sea life, etc. ALL species are being affected by OUR careless human existence. animals are the only one contributing to earth. yet humans all we do is take, take, take.

this one example: How Wolves Change Rivers - YouTube

in this video you will see how animal activity contributes to a better environment to earth. while human activity has not ever given any positive to earth.

the problem is not the animal that is lacking rescue. what we should be looking at is how we stop it from happening from the beginning. how do we stop the sick minded humans that will do this? how do we educate people to live green so all species can live in harmony with one another on this earth? there is only one earth. how can we increase the importance of this?

donating to rescue animal cannot stop the problem, sure it will help the animal in need. but there is always that sick minded shit human that will hurt another animal, that will own a dog and not be responsible for it. not care for it. am not oppose to rescue of the animal, I just think we are attacking the issue from the wrong angle. taking care of the injured animal will never stop if we dont stop the human doing it.

as the human race and population increases you will see more of these case. most animal will be wiped out and the environment will collapse and then humanity as well know it will be next. this wont happen in our lifetime. but if you are in yours 30s. I think we will see the beginning of the end, unless something drastic is done.

so stop caring so much about the material things, care what is around you. not saying you should not have any enjoyment, but simplify, we dont need to own 3 motorcycle, 3 cars, and the latest iphone every year. my car is 12 year old, runs great, i have 4 year phone. I recycle everything i can. what i ask is people that dont know how to contribute, then just reduce your taking. every item you buy hurts the environment a bit

do you have kids? how many of us are educating our kid to care to want less, and to care for the beings the live and breathe. our are we giving them the latest ipad? are we taking them to the zoo, hiking and having proper talk with them?

all those animal abuser were not educated. we can do our best by educating our son and daughters.
