I installed the Givi S250 toolboxes on my 2016 NC700X.

Here is what I used to have, some tool tubes held on with zip ties, duct tape and bubble gum:

Installation was anything but smooth, the toolbox brackets did not play nice with the outback trekker sidecase racks.

After trying to follow the “instructions” (another man’s opinion...), some improvisation and multiple visits from Mr. Drill and Mr. Hacksaw I was successful!

Here is the finished product:

Gory Details and Problems:

The bracket doesn’t fit, a weld is in the way:

Solution, employ Mr. Hacksaw on bracket arm and use a different hole below the welds:

In the other side there was no hole, so Mr. Drill made one.

Also, the holes provided for the mounting of the box to the plate are all wrong. There are two sets, one is too far back and the other too far forward. Too far to the back, the cross brace on the rack interferes with the toolbox door access. Too far forward and it starts running into bike plastics and the rack tube.

Maybe I got the wrong kit? It’s the ‘1146’ kit fit PL CAM racks, advertised to fit the NC700X.. (BTW: 1146 is the GIVI part code for stuff for 2016+ NC700X accessories.)

Some trial and error was needed to determine the optional hole location.

I made new holes 55mm backwards:

This was too far back, mount “works” but looks like crap, the bottom left side is resting on that bolt and isn’t flush. We can do better!

I made new holes a bit more forward so that bolt is cleared.

A spacer was added:

Done! What a pain in the ***.

I was looking after I just saw your post in the "what did you do with your NC today". I was trying to figure out if the universal attachment kit would work with the PLX rack for the V35 and K33n side cases. Sadly Givi doesn't seem to list if this kit and case is compatible with those racks. I may have to reach out to Givi support and ask them. So would there be room to mount 2 of these tool boxes? And does a 1 liter or larger MSR fuel bottle fit inside of these cases? Thanks again for sharing your new case. Very nice!

I was looking at this kit, but I've come to the conclusion that: 1. I just can't justify the price. 2. I don't think it will work with the '12 racks. (PL1111)

As a side note, my tool tubes that I have mounted there have been holding up. I made the mounting holes bigger with a drimmel and used a hose clamp to hold them on. Still good after 3 years 30k miles.

Can you post a picture or two when you get a chance, I'm thinking of setting up a tube for tire repair and I'm sure I'd figure something to pour in the second tube.

I've had the tubes for awhile and never mounted them
