Hi I have had some great advice already on this forum and I hope you don't mind me asking for more.

I started my rental business this year. We have 2 NC750Xs on the books. I thought they would be a massive hit as i love these bikes they are so practical. To me they are the most suitable all rounder!

However, I'm not sure if we need to get some more 'exciting' models.

Can i appeal to those who have rented a bike in another country for some advice?

When visiting a new country and planning to hire a bike do you think you'd prefer to...

  • A Tour (as in everything is organised, you follow a group and go where they take you.)
  • Or to go alone (explore at your own pace)
  • Or a combination of both? (perhaps you are given a route but you ride it solo)

I know for me i love the exploring side of riding a bike and i like finding my own way. That's what I thought would be more popular, however I'm starting to second guess if that is in demand.. do people prefer Tours where everything is included and they just twist the throttle?

Also, as an NC owner. If you were to hire a bike abroad. Would renting an NC actually appeal to you? or would you prefer to try something new and exciting whilst your on holiday?

Thank you

I went on a tour with Edelweiss in Europe, 5 countries, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Lichtenstein. Rented the bike from them, they led the tour. I appreciated that they knew the roads, the interesting places to stop and visit, they prearranged the hotels each night, and most of the meals and they carried our luggage which was placed in our room before we stopped for the night. They had a chase vehicle for broken down bikes and in our case where an older gentleman got sick and couldn't continue to ride, he was able to continue the tour via chase vehicle. All in all a class operation.

I would certainly rent an NC if riding solo, if my wife were along I would want something I consider better for two up riding. In Europe we rented an R 1200R.
