Quick question. Does anyone know if you can re-key Hondas oem luggage? As in, someone else has installed it and sells it to you. How do you re-key to match your ignition?

Thanks, Matt

They can be re-keyed as long as that person kept the extra pins that came with the kit. I don't know how specific these pins are, but a locksmith should be able to help you out. If I remember correctly, I think there were 3 different sizes and the order depended on my specific key.

Here is a long thread on this.

From what I was reading in another thread you trial fit the tumblers that came as part of the kit. Seems most people discard leftover tumblers. I hope you can make it work with the tumblers you currently have.

Read this post too.

Mine came from dealer with saddle bags and key was already matched to ignition. As far as I know the trunk key is till no doable.

That doesn't really answer the question of re-re-keying the luggage. Like taking the existing lock apart. I would obviously needs the original owners key to disassemble the lock right?

I could be wrong, but I think you WOULD need the original key. I don't think it's needed to re-key the inner cylinder, but to get the inner cylinder OUT of the cylinder body. Once out of the body an assortment of tumblers would more than likely be needed to re-key.
I can fax the original instructions to you if that would help.
