Oemheated grips stopped woking

Hi my own heated grips have stopped working. The on off switch on left grip lights up and flashes before going to steady red. But neither grip heats up! Are the grips wired in series or in parallel. Is this likely to be a cause of the grips or controller? Bearing in mind I’m a novice - is it relatively easy to find and trace fault - or should I just got Oxford grips??
