Just put some new shoes on the bike. Not sure if I missed something when I reassembled but is the gap pictured supposed to be there or should it sit flush. Don’t wanna take it all back off to inspect for no reason. Thanks in advance.

The same gap is seen on my NC700X. I suppose the gap is there so the sprocket carrier can move independently of the wheel casting, against the cush drive rubber dampers.

Thanks for confirming. Makes sense with how dirty it gets in there and it’s function. Just looks and seems unsettling

I also checked out a current NC750X today and saw the same gap.
