RIE-ON Smart Cap

Other threads I've read say to install metal valve stems if you go to that type of cap, also if your bike sits out unattended it would only take a second to steal them.

Do they propose that the rider lean over and check the color on the cap every few miles? That's how and when TPMS is useful. If not, they seem little or no more useful than a simple tire gauge (though dramatically more expensive). If so, I think there's a different safety issue in play to think about. ;-)

It's not that I don't 'get' the idea, but seriously: What are these supposed to actually help with?

You might want to consider what these weigh. They may be enough to require rebalancing the wheel.

To answer your question directly, no, I wouldn't buy them.

Yes, metal valve stem should be installed, no, they don't help while your riding, yes, I've seen reports on them, no, they weren't favorable.
