When I bought my newest NC it came with the full oem luggage kit. I didn't like the looks of the top box but it is so damn handy, I took the side cases off and run with the top box on most of the time. Awesome having a place to lock my helmet up too, as it won't fit in frunk. After getting used to it, I don't think it looks too bad at all anymore.Thumbs up for the top box. I park, change from boots to shoes, change out my jacket, load it all in the top box and go to work. I don't like the look of the top box, so I take it off for joy rides. But there is no substitute for the storage it provides for the commute. It hauls my laptop and lunch to the office, then stores my gear while I work. I went with the Hepco and Becker 55 Ltr box on the universal mounting plate attached to the Honda OEM rear rack.
Those are the exact boots I originally got because of the great reviews.Maybe you need something with a zipper. I have these and they're super comfortable for long periods of time. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/tcx-hero-wp-boots
I've been holding off on installing boxes and the like because of the cost. A large reason I bought the bike was to stop driving my car 60-70 miles a day. I guess I'll just stick with my sneakers while I'm saving up for storage and get something for non-commuting rides.Ditto
Or just drive your car?
There are lots of options but each involves some compromise. Up to, and including, leaving the bike at home. So pick the poison you are willing to swallow. Go without protection. Wear minimal protection that still offers enough comfort. Wear protection and lock it to the bike in a top box or panniers.
Just me but I now leave my side panniers and top box on the bike 100% of the time. If I ride in hot weather the side boxes are big enough to stow an armored jacket, pants, etc., helmet in the top box (won’t fit in the Frunk).
Make the choice.
Consider used. There are lots of good deals on use moto equipment that is so lightly used its hard to tell it was ever used.I've been holding off on installing boxes and the like because of the cost. Are there good sites to look for used ones on? Is the instillation easy enough that I could do it myself?Consider used. There are lots of good deals on use moto equipment that is so lightly used its hard to tell it was ever used.
It is nice to know I'm not the only one riding in sneakers. I wear size 13s and have a weird foot shape so I run into a lot of trouble trying to find normal shoes.I'm for either adding a top box or tail pack, and swapping out shoes once you get to work.....or just keep wearing sneakers. Only time I ride in anything other than sneakers is at the racetrack. Rode in to work today in these bad boys....LOL

There are numerous motorcycle forums, Adventure Rider is a good general moto news forum, not much info about the NC700/750, but they do have a classified ad area on their forums and I've been able to find some lightly used/once used items at big/good discounts. Are there good sites to look for used ones on? Can you adjust your shifter up to help with your Tmberlands? I have a set of 8” Carolinas I ride in occasionally and it is a different feel but I think that would be better than sneakers.I've been holding off on installing boxes and the like because of the cost. I ride in a pair of Timberlands sometimes. I have my shifter adjusted all they way up (adjusting the linkage and not the position on the spline) and that did the trick for the most part. I have some better boots on backorder should be here next month, until then I'll keep using the hiking boots as they are better than Nikes. Can you adjust your shifter up to help with your Tmberlands? So, I finally solved this issue. I got TCX Street 3s and put insoles and elastic laces in them. 16hrs of ICU, 12hrs of ED and 500 miles leave me with few complaints about these shoes/boots.
I would agree with that. If I endeavor to do more ADV stuff I will definitely not use these.New insoles solve a lot of problems!
My wife has a pair of TCX shoes similar to those, only her's are pink. She says they are very comfortable. Her biggest/only complaint is that the bottoms are somewhat slippery on gravel.
