I am thinking my rear Dunlop tire needs replacing at 5000 km on my brand new NC 750. What do you all think?

I ran my OEM tires until they had a very large flat spot, which didn't happen for about 8k miles. I ride Michelin Road 5 rubbers now and I got through 18k miles on the last set.

I think you should do what you are most comfortable with. Without pictures or knowledge of your tire's condition, we can only postulate :)

I read that the OEM Dunlop Trailmax tires, also known as Cheesemax due to the soft rubber, are infamously short lived tires. I don’t know if that is what we are talking about here In the photo in post #3. It is a little fuzzy and dark, but it looks like there is still some tread left.
