In Canada we call celebrate Remembrance Day. We wear a symbolic poppy to show support canadian remembrance day poppy - Google Search There are ceremonies at war memorials and cemeteries of veterans. It is nice to see the parents keeping the tradition alive by bringing out their young children.

I, personally don't feel like a hero, I appreciate the honor but the true heroes are honored on Memorial day. I think that people like me are thankful to those that gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we could become veterans.

NC, that reminds me of a t-shirt i saw a veteran/amputee wearing. It said something to the effect of "I am not a hero, but i have walked beside a few"! So, thank you none-the-less!
