Yep, the drawings show a completely different engine design. It looks more compact, and the crankcase/transmission case seems more stacked and tightly packed. I have to wonder if the long stroke feature of the NC700 was retained, or if we will lose that and the new engine is closer to being “square.”From looking at the patents, it's a complete engine redesign...
If this new 850 engine goes in the dream Africa Twin Junior model that is on my wish list, it's already too big. AT Jr needs to be 500cc and around 400 pounds.
