I changed the oil in the ole girl (2007 C50 Boulevard) and air filter yesterday. Went on a group ride today with the nature coast group. Rode a total of 180 miles today. Sorry no pics. Out of 16 bikes, 14 were Harleys, but they dont care what we ride. 2 weeks ago I drove my Slingshot with them (they have a few in the group). Next week I will probably ride the NC700x (if I can get the oil, filter, chain and sprockets changed-rear sprocket is starting to have curved teeth-time to change).

Road trip or boat trip?
Ferry ride across the St. John’s river at Mayport, Florida. I live on the south side of the St. John’s and I crossed to the north bank on the Hart bridge downtown and rode along the river on neighborhood roads till I could get on A1A and cross back to the south side of the river on the ferry about 50 miles trip.

Good on you. My Cabo had knobby tires which I didn’t like and now with pure street tires the ride is better. I will touch up the rim with some black enamel to feel better about it. It’s not a show bike anyway.
I use black permanent marker :)

The Ryker (and the NC) got baths today. Cloudy days with no wind are best for vehicle washing. Now to suit up and ride!

This past weekend I attended a Motorcycle Sport Touring Association (MSTA) rally in Dillard, GA. The club used to be the Honda Sport Touring Association, but it was never restricted to a single brand. And after many years, the name was changed to reflect the non-denominational attitude. While the majority of bikes tend to be sport touring or adventure, and more (a nice variety of bikes for sure), I'd already put a few hundred miles on my NC this month, so I rode my Honda CB300F. In 750+ miles over the weekend, I revved the wiz out of the CB on the northern Georgia mountain roads. Totally different approach from the NC. But the CB racked up nearly 80 mpg over those miles and a wide variety of terrain. I certainly enjoyed the "engagement" I feel with the CB, but it would be nice to execute the pass of a slow vehicle without downshifting 2-3 gears and red-lining the bike, and all of that only after much planning. My NC puts a smile on my face for its versatility, and vehicle passes are WAY easier than the CB could ever think about.

Well last Friday and Saturday I rode the V100 Mandello 1150 miles from WI to Buzzrds Bay MA. First long trip on the bike, did most things fine, a few things could be better. The one thing that bugged me was it has about the same fuel range as my NC750 had, about 165 to reserve. Only thing is the Guzzi did it using more fuel and premium to boot so fill ups were about 50% more expensive. I have never used the words motorcycle and practical in the same sentence, it's not why I ride them but after the NC fueling the Guzzi was plain old fashion painful.

Day 89... was supposed to be beautiful today with highs approaching 80 for our men's lunch and ride, so I took the CB ....... and it was beautiful..... right up until the last 15 minutes when the skies provided a nice hard surprise rain bath lol. Man did we get unexpectedly soaked lol. 74 miles @ 77 degrees.

I joined up with about 300 hundred other riders today to escort the Vietnam traveling wall memorial from Inverness Florida to Crystal River (short ride but cool with police/fire escort). Even though almost all the bikes were HD, there were about a dozen Can Ams and a handfull of sport bikes and 1 Slingshot (me). Somehow my videos from my camera didnt transfer from properly and got corrupted. After the ride ended at Crystal River Harley Davidson (where the Memorial will be setup until at least Sunday), I decided to ride/drive my Slingshot on Ozello Trail and see how she handles the sharp curves on the trail (good-I could go faster but there were hidden LEOs a couple of spots).

As much as I dislike group rides like that I do miss riding the Ozello Trail on occasion.

I do them rarely, only for good causes. Used to be a huge group ride I did in Louisville for a children's camp, it would go for hours with numerous stops, but they started stopping at beer stops, so I stopped riding for that charity ride. Ozello is getting so bad with cold patches, ruts and such, like most non-interstate roads in this state, the counties are not paying for road upkeep. I may not ride Ozello again until/if they ever repave it, but it is gorgeous out there.

If it is a good cause then donate and stay away from the parade. Safer that way.

I only do those big ones if they are police/fire escorted, which this ride was. since I am a veteran, I wanted to be part of the escort for the traveling Vietnam Memorial wall.

Exactly why I don't ride the semi-annual (twice a year) Mississippi river "Flood Run" anymore. It's a great cause and charitable but mostly two lane riding and way too many who ride from bar to bar to bar...

Today was my wife's last day of work-she is officially retired. She had to drive to Tampa today-her employer was having a retirement lunch for her and she had to take her work office equipment to work and turn it in. After I performed my barn/horse chores this morning, I took the slingshot out for 3 hour tour, thru Chiefland, Fowlers Bluff, and over to Cedar Key (Florida). Levy county has begun to repair the main fishing pier in Cedar Key; however, it looked like all they have done so far is hammer jack the sidewalk to the pier. Got a short video of the ride going into Cedar Key and on Dock Street (turning onto Dock Street starts at the 4 minute mark).

FINISHED MY 1976 HONDA CB400F RESTORATION!
After 9 months and 225 hours of labor, I have completed the restoration of a 1976 Honda CB400F. Got my first ride on it yesterday. Quite a small bike (400 lbs.) compared to today's bikes, but Good Lord this thing is fast! Scared me a bit!

My Google Photo Album shows a few hundred pictures of the what the many hours of work to restore the 1976 Honda CB400F actually look like. Newest pictures at the top of the list showing the completed bike, scrolling down shows you what went on all the way back to July of 1924. Have fun!
