Call this a blog or just a way to socialise about biking life.

Since buying the NC700X new, I have had my fair share of ups and downs in the last 4 months.

The ups are the obvious, a new bike, new helmet, new boots. It was way too exciting. I have had sporadic vertigo spells in the last 3 years and it took me a lot of balls to buy a new bike.

The main downs is the banning from a new forum, with a lot of misunderstandings and miscommunications being the main cause (and my naivety). I left with a very bitter taste after "contributing" lots (IMHO) to that startup. It is not pleasant to be asked to leave, especially under opaque conditions (no fair). Nevertheless life brings people new surprises sometimes.

Luckily there is this forum and I do try to learn from my mistakes and not to repeat them, although it is never nice to have a "policeman" looking over your shoulders whenever I post something.

I changed my username to HAPPY for a good reason. Go figure it out.

I then rejoined a social forum in Switzerland and I found a bunch of English-speaking riders in Switzerland. Most of them are from UK and strangely, after we met up (in person), these people are very cordial and more accomodating, compared to accronymed forum "friends and foes". They are mostly professionals and some own several bikes at the same time.

We have since gone for day trips in the black forest and the founder of that group also arranges track days for the racer boys. The average age of that group is say from 30-60. I do not feel "old" in that group but they do gasp at my new shiny machine. Some of them are too polite to ask for her PS rating.
We also exchange some information regarding life in general and not just technical bits about bikes (although bikes brought us together in the first place).

The weather in Switzerland has been up and down, due to the Global Weirding (weather) phenomenon. Some days there is hail, some days it is scotching hot. I usually only ride when the sun is shining.

We have several "events" coming up, and I look forward to meeting up with those fellow riders for a coffee and an evening ride.
Afterall, we are all riders. Once a rider, always a rider. (recreational, that is)

Hope you enjoyed my story.
What's happening around your side of the world?
What did you do this week with your bike?
Do you have a "gang" of friendly bikers too?

Tomorrow is Zurich Street Parade.
Every one there is either drunk, naked or behaving like easter bunnies...

5 of us will be riding our bikes in the North side of Zurich lake and hopefully I will bring you some videos or photos.

Stay tuned.
~Joe

PS: Sunny weather predicted. Oh I jinxed it?
:p
