New member welcome thread..

I added a Givi touring shield but it still doesn't give you "Goldwing" coverage. A lot of guys claim the Madstat shield blocks the wind pretty well. I also ride a naked retro CB 1100 so to me this blocks a lot of wind lol.

Well, the one I'm still thinking about buying already has a Givi windshield on it, so I can start with that and see if it is enough coverage for me or not.
I'll not be taking LONG rides on this bike. The long rides are reserved for the Gold Wing trike when the wife goes with.

Thanks for your reply. I'm turning 75 next month. Question for you: I'm so used to riding behind a fairing or at least a good sized windshield, so I'm concerned that the very small windshield on these bike will make for a lot of buffeting on the head and shoulders that I'm not used to. What has been your experience, and what have you perhaps added or changed to deal with the wind at speed?
A Madstad windshield handles the wind very well. Nice quiet cockpit and gentle wind to the face.

Funnily enough, two guys I used to work with each had an NM4(maybe still have, lost touch with them) ; I think I posted a pic here years ago. Other than that, I've never seen any others in person. I love quirky bikes, the NM4 included.
If the information I got when I worked in a Honda dealer was correct only 2000 of the NM4 Vultus were imported into the US over two model years. Most or all dealers only got 1 example and they didn't take long to sell. I've only seen two or three out being ridden.

Hi there, I'm Vinay from Landsmeer (just north of Amsterdam) in the Netherlands. I'm so new to motorcycling, I only passed my exam last Thursday and have yet to pick up my licence. I can buy my bike this Saturday May 25th so that will be sweet. My lessons were on a Yamaha MT07 but my bike will be an NC750X from 2020, which is why I joined this forum. I have always loved riding bicycles (mtb, bmx and just commuting on a heavy steel bike to work and back) and even a bit or mountain unicycling, but I also always wanted to get a motorcycle. So I'm happy to have reached that point. I understand the NC750X is a friendly, reliable and efficient bike which is just what I'm looking for in a bike, at least at this point. Other than that, I've got two daughters with my girlfriend, I'm a teacher in higher education and listen to anything between death metal and ska.

You'll probably find me in the tech section with all kinds of questions once my bike is here, but at least you now know who I am. Cheers!

Welcome, and enjoy your new bike!

Howdy Vinay and welcome to the forum. What the heck is ska? (I'm guessing I'm quite a bit older than you lol)
Just looked it up to figure out how old this style of music actually is, but it actually seems to go back to the late '50s: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ska. Always hard to describe a style of music, but it typically comes with good vibes. I got exposed to it through a NY based band called The Slackers but obviously with a style this old, there are so many variations. And obviously, I only meant to indicate a spectrum of music I'd happily listen to and ska is only one end of it. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter which box a tune fits in, as long as it sounds good :).

Welcome, Vinay! I was around for the early-1980s ska revival (Specials; English Beat; etc.). Great to see you here! Am also a teacher (history).
