Don’t worry about being bored. Just see if you can test ride both and pick the one that speaks to you. The nc is a lifetime bike. Does it all fairly well.

I agree that the rear tire has more to do under continuous loading. But some bikes do eat fronts first for me. My k1600 being a perfect example. I almost never use the rear brake on the street but that bike is linked. Nc700x is fairly gentle on tires and I expect more than 10k out of my pr4s...
I know this is obvious but I have to ask if you put things back together in such a way as to hinder the motion of the shift lever?

Would definitely drill 4 holes. 2 passes with a drill. You don't want any restrictions in the flow of oil so the emulator is actually controlling compression dampening. Esp since your complaint is about being beaten up.
