Pictures of Various Honda NC700X Saddlebags

Here's a combo of the Givi V46 and some Caribou'ed Pelican Storm 2600 cases (with his DIY Givi Mount). I don't think they're all that heavy at 8.5 lbs. For their stoutness, I'm OK with the extra weight. Very easy way to add extra visibility.

Nice Cagedodger! I had the same set up on my WeeStrom. Does the bottom of your DIY bracket extend beyond the bottom of the case? Are you able to stand the case up, or does the DIY bracket interfere?

Nope. I installed it so that I could set it down without interference. I did a *lot* of measuring before drilling. I installed them off center so that if I switch sides, the cases sit further back so my wife has more room when she rides. the rest of the time, the tuck in a few inches forward.

Brilliant!

Hey Greg ..

What USA distributor did you buy from ??

Thanks ...

I bought from Tour and Ride. According to a Givi rep I spoke to on the phone (about a different matter), Tour and Ride is the sole US distributor for Kappa products. I have not verified that 100%, but I have to admit I've never seen anyone else selling Kappa in the USA.

Watch the Tour and Ride Web site for crazy sales where they have certain Kappa and/or Givi stuff for half price. I got the Monokey K21s for half of list price minus another 10% around the first of this year; I think they were $85.05 for the pair of side cases, free shipping.

GIVI and KAPPA Motorcycle Accessories

I know the Honda bespoke bags are pricey, but I have to say they look the best IMHO. The Trekker 33litre bags would have won it as they look really sexy and they have the neat opening system, but Honda have struck a great balance between providing just enough capacity for one-up touring and keeping the whole width of the bags when fitted to probably less than anything I've seen (although the deauville might be narrower)

Thanks for the tip ...

That's a great price you got on the K21's ..

I also have a pair of these. I prefer them to big bags as they do not increase petrol consumption too much. Also imho they do not take too much away from the look of the bike. I usually mount mine in the opposite direction with the deep end forward. They have reasonable carrying capacity and are extremely light by comparison to the Treker 33's which I use on another of my bikes.

Can anyone give me an idea of the cost on the Trax aluminum cases or the Givi Outback ones? I am having a hard time understanding the cost of these because most of the websites that sell them are a bit messy, or will only give me a price on one side, or don't carry the mounting hardware for some reason... Hoping someone who actually has them could tell me around what they paid.

Thanks!

Has anyone tried the Giant Loop Great Basin bag on the NC700? I have a set of Givi hard cases and I'm looking for a soft bag/bags for off road riding/camping.

I am glad you asked this question. I am thoroughly confused as to what mounting hardware to buy and what mounting plate to buy and where to buy. Givi usa website has links to local dealers. I was hoping to buy a top case and corresponding hardware from some online retailer like motorcycle superstore. Something like this. Givi B37 Monolock Topcase - Motorcycle Superstore
Looks like this one has some universal mounting stuff included. Are there any threads on what to buy for specific top boxes?

I may end up buying OEM bags, despite liking two of the aftermarket options much more, because I simply can't figure out where or how much they will cost me with mounting hardware.

Example: Twisted Throttle offers sw-motech's Trax panniers, and "adapters" for sw-motech mounts, but I can't figure out which actual mounts to buy. Assuming I am right in what I have figured out, they will cost me $1300ish dollars... Which I am willing to spend, but less willing if I am not sure they will actually fit when they get to me.
