If there ever was a time when motorcyclists needed to head south for some relaxation in the sun and sand it would be now. After getting hammered by a flurry of harsh winter weather motorcycle riders all across the country—especially those who have been caught up in the voracity of a Polar Vortex—have been itching to wheel their motorcycles out of hibernation and put rubber to the road. For many the month of March is often the kick off to the riding season as they find respite amongst the palms and salty breeze of Daytona Beach during Bike Week.

For those of you lucky enough to sneak away from work to partake in biker’s spring break make it known here. Maybe a number of us NC7 riders can meet up for a ride down the strip.

I read somewhere the Indians will have a display, didn't catch the whole story.

Almost all the manufacture displays are at the race track, every year. But, there are many other displays everywhere, just about on every corner. Last year Indian announced it's new engine at "Dirty Harry's". Mike from "American Pickers" did the honors.

I want to be in that top picture WAY more than I want to be in the bottom one.

I am almost embarrassed to say I even go to Daytona for Trailer Week. Many of the cruiser riders are rusty from months of not riding and have an overweight pillion poured into too- tight leather wear on the back just to make them slower and more wobbly than usual. On any other day you'd pull over and let Mr. Accident Waiting To Happen make some distance from you but during Trailer Week it is not possible because there are 100,000 of them in town.

On the plus side it's the only place I can go to ride several demo rides each day and see all the bikes from most manufacturers in one place. The vendors are there in masses and there are some deals to be had. I bought the racks for my NC at discount there last year and one year I got a great deal on heated clothing.

The pure spectacle of Main Street should be experienced at least once. Daytona during Trailer Week is the only place I'll likely be in traffic where cars and trucks are vastly outnumbered by motorcycles.

6.jpgDduelin, do you Florida NC7 riders get together any where around Jacksonville, and ride down old US 1 to Daytona? Every year I seem to stop at this little seafood restaurant about 1/2 between Jacksonville and Daytona along this part of the Pacific to eat. Also, there is St. Augustine. That would be a great little ride.

Also, ain't nothing to be embarrassed about in going to Daytona. It is a great time with all kinds of different folks, that are nice folks to meet.

The local NC riders are a close-knit group of individuals. We got together in October for the 2nd Annual FL Ride To Eat but since then there have been no NC-only rides. A nice ride for me to is to take A1A along the beach down to Daytona but I generally avoid US 1. Did you mean A1A?

You know that area a lot better than I do, so I would bet you are right in that the road is A1A. It is a nice ride.

Fuzzy,

I am going to be in the vicinity of the track around 8 or 8:30 AM this morning and would like to meet up with you and OCR if possible. Post or PM me if this is possible.
