Wow. You're really out there in the boonies eh? How do the water moccasins get in trees? Lol... damn... aren't they just snakes then? Good luck to you, the one thing that Texas does have going for it... is you can keep your gun on you. Bob cat chase you, you can just pull out the six shooter and...
You shouldn't have any problem getting back on a bike. Take it slow at first. It's like when you ride a bicycle, and you get back on after a while... You'll never forget.
Heated gloves can help handle the cold all around a lot better. Sometimes the grips won't cover the outside of your fingers...
Also, my favorite thing to do. Sometimes you'll see a car ( normally some performance car ) with super grippy tires... Their tires will be throwing up lots of water behind it..and leaving a nice clean trail of dryness. I like to ride in that little trail of dryness. Way more grip. I typically do...
If you're winterizing your bike for less than 3 months. I really wouldn't worry about it too much. Move it around a little bit and you should be good to go.
As long as you didn't actually get Mono. You shouldn't have any problem. Mono is one of the mandatory deferments along with Hepatitis. It's pretty safe to say that they'll let you donate blood if it's been 25 years already. Also, they do give you a call if theres any cause for concern after...
Very nice. I would have done it the same way. I don't have the same bags however, but I do have some similar ones ( http://www.vikingbags.com/axe-sports-bikes-motorcycle-saddlebags.htm ). I actually REALLY like your 3 bag set up. The way theres a middle bag really adds to the usefulness of it...
I believe the deferment period is about 10-15 years. Don't quote me, I might be wrong. I think the specific date is like as long as you haven't been exposed after 1990, you should be okay. ( I used to work with the Red Cross Blood Services )
Double Red Procedure is pretty hard on your body so...
I love the concept of heated gloves and everything associated with it. However, the price is just too much for me sometimes... Theres basically 0 chance of you finding high quality heated gloves for $100.
I've seen a version of these around forever. With GoPro rolling out new additions to their product lines, It's really hard to justify going with one of these. It's about $300 for a GoPro and double that for my phone... Much rather lose 350 than 700 if you know what I mean?
I wouldn't like the wind deflectors only because of the fact that they make the bike look like an elephant! Go with the heated gloves option :) If not, the handlebars will do but thats added installation which can be a huge drag. If its freezing out there, I would definitely recommend heated...
It's as easy as buying some rain gear and roughing it out. http://www.motorcyclehouse.com/Motorcycle-Rain-Gear.htm Most of the time it's just in case. You don't have to worry about rain too often...
Honestly, I wouldn't even bother with heated gear unless its 40 degrees and less. Save my money...
Wow. You got a crazy trip knocked down so far. I would have personally recommended you to try a smaller tank bag, as it might look a bit uncomfortable to ride with like that?
