HONDA – the NC700 bikes in depth… - BIKERGLORY
maybe this article explains why the handling difference,
by having 40 extra lbs low on my DCT bike.
FORWARD C of G vulnerability: over steer, rear wheel lateral instability.
REAR C of G vulnerability: under steer, front wheel lateral instability...
Double checked the manual, it states a 30 lb difference between the clutch non abs vs the DCT version.
So plus the kickstand, guessing a 40+ lbs difference between the two bikes.
I thought so too, but already checked tire pressure on both bikes and both bikes seem to have the spring preload on stock setting.
somehow the DCT bike feels more sluggish
I bought two used NC700X a couple of weeks ago, both had low miles.

2013 NC700X DCT
I bought both with the intention of keeping one.
My background, fairly new rider, started last fall on a TMax 500cc scooter. (one of the best scooter you can get)
I owned a Ninja 300 for a...
maybe so,
btw, I am shooting the video on a Samsung S8.
FWIW, what I hear in real world is comparable to the video.
It sounds more accurate on my desktop computer (with better speakers) vs my cellphone.
Thanks for the feedback.
I have mentioned earlier that pulling in and letting out the clutch does not effect the ticking sound.
Here's a video of the engine sound with me press/release the clutch. (I did it like 3 times in the video)
You can barely hear the clutch basket noise.

Well, I gonna get rid of one soon. I don't have the space to keep 3 bikes. I think I will sell the Clutch one. Here's the main thing that disappoints me. The DCT is awesome in traffic (partly because I suck at clutch, still noobish) but my DCT bike feels more sluggish in the twisties vs...
I still think my engine ticking is too loud. Sometimes it's hard to diagnose with a youtube video, especially when listening to it on a cellphone.
I do notice this, on cold startup, I don't hear the ticking, but after 2-3 minutes the ticking comes on.
Here's my 2013 NC700X DCT with 6k miles...
Btw, I bought 2 nc700x recently, 1 clutch, 1 dct. The ticking sound is much louder on the clutch bike.
I will take a video of my dct bike also.

Ha! Picked up a 2013 NC700X DCT with 6k miles tonight! I was grinning on the ride back home. Love it, easy to ride like my Tmax. And feels way smoother vs the clutch version.
I think I gonna really enjoy this bike. :)
Hi all,
Just picked up a 2015 NC700X with 4000 miles
I noticed a loud ticking sound at idle.
I am guessing it's the valves? but sounds quite loud.
I have read about broken cam chain tensioner, hope it's not that.

NC700X is a bit tall for a beginner bike. If you are 5'10" and up, it should be good.
I think automatics are great for beginners.
Way safer IMHO.
I started on a Yamaha TMAX 500. Amazing maxi scooter!
I wish the Honda Integra is available here.
