Will do. Will also try to think about taking pictures.
Tried a little ride in soft sand over the week-end. I think the bike and the tires performed well. I think the rider is not used to riding on soft ground and was a bit scared ;-)
Wow, 21 months since the last update on this thread I started. So here goes: Last year I added at the end of the summer the Rox Risers and an Airhawk seat cushion. This spring, I added the SW-Motech skidplate and contrary to one of my first posts, I also added SW-Motech crashbars. Finally, I...
That's it, received the skidplate and crashbars today. Installed them in a couple of hours - went on easy, no problem. Next step, the tires...
Sorry about the bad picture quality. But you get the idea ;-)
I have ordered mine a few weeks ago. It is supposed to come in next week. Also ordered the crash bars (same make) and a set of TKC 80 (with some bottles of RideOn)... As you can deduct, I intend to take my bike off the black top... if spring can get here for real...
Hello all,
Anybody tried the Metzeler Karoo 3's ? They are available in the same dimension as the Shinko D705's (130/80/17 Front and 150/70/17 Rear). I like the tread design.
Ciao.
I have thought about the risers but have not decided yet.
Crash bars ? I think it would look too "heavy" (overloaded ?) with the Honda light bar already installed.
I have thought about the hugger but so far I stayed on the road and the rear shock does not seem too dirty. Would look nice...
Picture of the Madstad installed.
Next step: highway pegs (with the muffler clamps). And maybe the bashplate, don't know about this one yet.
Jean, the Running Turtle. In the quiet zone.
Got mine on yesterday (20'' sport, medium grey). Tried it coming to work this morning. Worked great! I am 5'6'' with short inseam (so longer torso) so I hesitated between the 18'' and the 20''. I raised the screen maybe 1'' from the lowest position, with the angle roughly at the recommended 60°...
Madstad windshield added to the red X
Last step completed!
Tonight I received via UPS my Madstad 20'' medium grey sport windshield. Excellent quality, well made product. As some have already reported, the nut plates are included in the package. It also seems that the screws for the former...
I installed Denali D2D (dual intensity) with the 25° lenses for wider coverage. To mount them on the Honda lightbar I used aluminum L brackets. Did not have the opportunity to ride at night yet to see how effective they are. But I am sure the other drivers now have more chances of seeing me coming.
When I get asked about the turtles, I answer that they are from my kids, bla bla bla... while in fact it was my doing. Don't tell anybody please :o
And if it is a chick magnet, the polarity is probably reversed... :(
Hi all,
Had some fun farkling (to use the popular expression) my X. Here's what I did:
- Fender extender (easy);
- Radiator guard (quite easy too);
- Hand guards (expected the stock handlebar weight to be more difficult to extract but was not too bad);
- LED auxiliaiary lights (that's what took...
Thanks a lot for the information and pictures. I think I will go with the Denali D2D (I prefer the wider beam of the D2 over the longer throw of the DX). I also think that I will make small brackets to be able to screw them directly into the lightbar.
Hello all,
I have on my X the Honda lightbar. Wanted to add the foglights but Honda's are way too expensive. I saw the Denali lights and like them (I might go with the D2 or DX). My question is about installation. The Honda bar has 2 screw in holes on each side but they point horizontally...
No name yet for the beast. We speak French where I live. I will have to find one that also makes sense in English :)
Went to work with it today (downtown Montreal). It was rainy but wanted to try it anyway. I just love the bike. I've owned a few ones and I don't think I felt so fast in love...
Interesting forum for an interesting bike!
