Losse spots in chain @ 580 miles

Loose spots in chain @ 580 miles Okay, the chain has loose spots. It tightens and loosens about 3/4 of an inch. This can't be good for the sprockets. Should I replace the chain with a DID while the sprockets are fairly new, or, just ride it and replace the chain and sprockets when the whole...

    Gas

I continually find myself splashing gas out of the fuel fill into the basin, or worse the seat. Your aim has to be true to get the fuel into the tank w/o a splash.

    Sprockets

My dealer said that Honda had a run of bad sprockets. They were out of round. I pointed out that my chain tightened and loosened when turned. They took my bike in to check the chain/sprockets. (550 miles)

    Chain

I noticed this afternoon that the chain gets tighter when I sit on the bike. So, a perfectly adjusted chain on the center stand wont be when I sit down on the bike. Last week I discovered the chain was tight on the center stand. I can only imagine how tight it was when I was on the bike...

    Break in

When did your bike start to feel like it was broken in?? When did the MPG change? I know the Strom's take forever to break it.

    Forks

The roads in Santa Cruz county are pretty rough. The Strom I used to ride ate up the bumps. The NC is quite a bit firmer. I'm wondering if a lighter fork oil, or one of the oils with "Friction Reducers" might reduce the damping. Any opinions?

    Considering buying a NC700X

I've been riding for 44 years. I have a Gold Wing, and we enjoy the heck out of 2 up traveling. Even so, I do miss my VStrom for the daily commute up and down the freeway, through heavy traffic, grocery getting etc. On face value, it would appear that the NC700x would be the best choice...
