NC750x Bad Engine Noise after Valve Adjustment

I second the earlier comment that the valves may not have been at TDC on the compression stroke. For anyone reading this in the future, wiggle the rocker arms by hand before doing any adjustment to verify that the rocker arm is not under tension. It should have a very small amount of play. If...

What do you do when the wind blows fierce

Wind gusts will move the bike, so we plan ahead and position the bike accordingly. Plan ahead for gusts on bridges and for wind shadows behind terrain. All the folks that said relax and roll with it are right on the money. Strong gusts + rain = slow down. Get off the interstate and take the old...

    New front tire head shake

@Floowid, I'll chime and add that I've had this exact same experience before with a new front tire purchased and balanced at Cycle Gear. I took the tire back, they rebalanced it and the problem was solved. Here is the bedtime story version with details: I've bought (7) new tires from CG and...

Turn signals and rear lights not working - RESOLVED!

I have 1/2 a cup of coffee in me. I can walk the OP through specific and simple multi-meter checks using the wiring diagram but I can't confidently explain the un-commanded hazard flash that occurred Friday morning. The symptoms as initially described are usually attributed to someone...

Turn signals and rear lights not working - RESOLVED!

One last thought before I sign-off for the night. You could try removing the front right turn signal lamp that came on when the others didn't and retesting the turn signals and flashers. Maybe something else will happen to shed some more light on this mystery. Good luck!

Turn signals and rear lights not working - RESOLVED!

I'll add that I don't have a lot of confidence in the bulb being the problem but it's an easy check. Unfortunately, the wiring diagram I found online is not accurate, it shows both front turn signals as single filament bulbs with a separate "Position" lamp instead of the dual-filament lamps that...

Turn signals and rear lights not working - RESOLVED!

Yes. If the brake light bulb has a 3-pin connector (circled in red in the snip below) then unplugging it should have the same affect as removing the bulb and will not adversely impact the turn signals. Go with whichever method is easier.

Turn signals and rear lights not working - RESOLVED!

Let me check on the connector question.

Turn signals and rear lights not working - RESOLVED!

It's not an easy thing to get a picture of, but this is what you should see if looking in thru the brake light lens at the stock dual-filament bulb. If the upper filament looks broken or has a sag where it could contact the lower filament then remove the bulb and retest the turn signals/flashers...

Turn signals and rear lights not working - RESOLVED!

I scrutinized the wiring diagram and have one other idea that's an easy check. There is a uncommon scenario where one filament of a dual filament bulb breaks and lays across the other filament sending power backwards onto a circuit causing weird things to happen. It acts a lot like a bad ground...

Turn signals and rear lights not working - RESOLVED!

That helps. The horn also shares a 7.5A fuse with the tail lights and brake light so we can rule out a blown fuse. Give me a minute to study the diagram further and see if I can think of any other quick checks

Turn signals and rear lights not working - RESOLVED!

Does the horn work? (it shares a ground terminal with the tail and stop lamps at Junction G)

Need Help Loss of power in 6th gear

Great write up and description of the issue, quick question (perhaps I missed it) but, would it be accurate to say the engine RPMs dropped as the power decreased when the bike struggled in 6th? I'm sure you already know where I'm going with this. Just want to rule out the possibility of a...

    Frunk Latch won't close

Did you get this figured out? Your original assumption sounds like it is right on the mark. Here are some photos & measurements from my '12 NCX for comparison: The ruler measures: 1" from top of plastic to the movable metal part on the latch. The latch loop protrudes 1.5" from the lid and the...

Arashi Rear Shock Absorber - Has anyone installed

Thanks for the follow up and pics. If the original shock ends are 28 mm and 39 mm while the new shock ends are 30 mm and 39 mm, It seems like that should work... The writing on the black plastic adjustor ring would be upside down but I think it would be on the top and easier to reach? I am...

    Question Backlight doesn't keep setting?

I'm a little late to chime in, but after changing the backlight setting wait to turn the key off until the display stops flashing and don't touch any other buttons during this time. After the display stops flashing and returns to 'normal' you can turn the key off and it will retain the settings...

Nc700d dash out, replaced, no start

Did you get this figured out? start with the obvious and check that the kickstand is fully up or that the bike is in neutral.- as 670 stated, changing the display settings (including brightness) is accomplished by pressing and holding the 2 button for a few moments. You'll notice that after the...

Arashi Rear Shock Absorber - Has anyone installed

+1 following The OEM shock has leaked out most (if not all) of it's oil after ~8 yrs of hard commuting. I have nothing against going back to another OEM shock, but it's hard to ignore the price on this.

Electrical problem bike won't get any power?? Video

Vilemd, did you get this figured out? I watched the video and it looks like there may be a poor connection between the jumper cables, the battery terminals, and the bike. At the 1:35 mark it's very possible that when the meter drops to zero it's not because power was disconnected by the...
