A few people have been scammed on the site, Only use paypal to pay for items for sale by other members. If they will not use paypal, its likely a scam NEVER SEND E-TRANSFERS OF ANY KIND.
Yes, it seems to be that one. The other, larger banner appears almost immediately but the southbound Honda ad takes ages - in fact even longer now :-( although I do now seem to have some control before it appears. But when it appears, everything still flickers etc...
I am using an Android...
Hmm, very 'sort of' - your speedo never went over 53mph ;)
I hope that was just the end of your ride as you only seemed to travel about 5 miles - not exactly a continent-crusher :p
Recently, the response time on this forum has gone to pot - every time I click on a new page, it appears ok but I can't do anything (scroll, reply) for about 3 seconds and then the screen flashes, the posts re-arrange themselves and finally I have response.
This seems to be caused by the one...
After a dubious night's sleep (forgot my inflatable pillow :( ), not helped by a kebab and a couple of pints of 6X (brewed down the road in Devizes, I was told), I set off for the tiny hamlet of Alton Barnes, Wiltshire, to find a WW2 bomber memorial. Sadly, couldn't find the darn thing but...
Lots of great trips reports on here of your huge landscapes, so I thought I'd give you an idea of what little old England has to offer (this report is already on the UK NC forum, so apologies if you've already seen it on there).
I took advantage of the weather, an office move (allowing me to...
Here in the UK, every insurance policy includes a percentage which goes to a special fund to cover uninsured drivers. It means our premiums are higher but it does make the process of claiming much quicker - if the other party is uninsured, they are immediately at fault for the accident and the...
Seriously?! The GS is surely the ugliest bike on the planet. People stare only because they can't believe how ugly it is...:p. Trust me on this, I have owned some ugly bikes - Varadero, Suzuki GSX600F - but they are works of art in comparison to the GS.
The NC is actually the first...
I enjoy reading bike magazines but I always take their final conclusions with a pinch of salt...a journo doesn't have to buy the bike with his own money, pay for the petrol, pay for the servicing and rarely gets to keep the bike for more than a few days. They are used to and expect an...
...er....isn't it basically a cruiser? I think you sell quite a lot of those in the States - there's a quite well-known brand, called something like Harold Dickinson, I think...:p
It's called a Vultus over here - pretty cool name and I quite like it - bit of a Batmobile vibe going on...
Holy Cow - that is one huge expanse of nothingness...your definition of 'road' is very different to mine - I'd call the best of those 'tracks' :p
That is a great trip and pictures - love the 'no motorcycle' sign in a place that hardly gets any humans! ;) ....and a 5,000 km fence?!
Keep...
Darn - nice try anyway and look forward to some pics (if you got any time to take any).
You guys have GOT to get together and legalise lane-splitting. If I have do less than 20mph for more than 2 minutes on my bike, I get twitchy...but 3 HOURS! In Texas! In July! That's more of a...
Thank you all - very interesting. Just got to wait for the kids to leave home...:(
We're planning a big RV trip next summer - we were going to wander around CA but will try include Oregon (although have to squeeze the Grand Canyon in somehow).
Ah now that is clever :) - is that a special type of tape? I wanted to attach a velcro patch to my helmet (for a camera) but I was worried about damaging the paint/surface - that seems like a great solution.
Best of luck on the trip...
Like the sound of the Okanaga place - we went right past it during a 2 week RV trip round BC years ago and the weather was nice in April but I assumed the whole area was snowed under in winter as there are so many ski resorts round there. Whistler is my favourite ski resort as well...
Drove...
Thanks - do you guys not get black as an option?
That is an IXIL Hyperflow pipe and it sounds amazing - road legal but it's got removable baffles which make it not road legal but I haven't tried that yet
BTW, that building is about 40 floors - we have a few skyscrapers ;)
This is Billingsgate Fish Market (dunno why its not on the sign but it is, honest - see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billingsgate_Fish_Market):
If accepted, next tag is a pic with your bike and looking up a tall building (> 20 floors).
OK, I was talking to the wife (well, I have to every now and then or she gets annoyed) and we got to discussing where we would hypothetically move to in the world, once the kids have left home and our parents have ..er... moved on to a higher place, so to speak.
I suggested France (I quite like...
