I almost got rear ended at a light yesterday. First real ride of the year and very windy. I had just pulled up to stop light and looked down at the speedo/mileage when a HUGE cloud of tire smoke goes rolling past me from behind. A quick look in my mirror is filled with pickup truck grill. I...
Greetings Metzergb! I spent 4 years in Stuttgart and loved every minute of it. I did a lot of travel in your area as well. Found my favorite beer in the entire world at Andechs! Hope you enjoy your bike and welcome to the forum.
We had a VERY brief reprieve on Friday with temps in the 60's here in Upstate NY. I actually took the bike out of the shed and for a quick ride.....The lawn is still a little too wet to do that and I ended up digging a new trench across the back lawn in the process....oooops. Hey, it was well...
Has anyone had issues with the Kobras and Madstad windshield? I just got the Kobras with the extensions and a 20" madstad. The handguards just touch the windshield on full lock. Haven't spent a load of time trying to adjust either piece but wondered if anyone else has had this issue.
FYI RevZilla is offering 20% off Barkbusters! That would bring them down to around $130. Just as I was ready to pull the trigger on the SWMotec Kobras ($175 + $26 for extenders).
Jelly, your picture sold me on the Kobras. Anyone know whether you can install the Kobras without removing/replacing the handlebar weights? Is a longer bolt needed to do that? Anyone sprung for the Kobra extension kit? Was it worth the extra $?
That looks awesome! I have a set of Blaze bags and would like to have them mounted so I can refuel without un-strapping them. My bike is in a shed buried in a snowbank right now so I can't look myself but...how do you remove the plugs?
Greetings from near Cooperstown NY! I know Bennett Motorsales in Cooperstown has 2 in stock (a 2012 silver manual and a 2014 red DCT) if you're still looking.....They are usually a little 'proud' of their merchandise, though. Good luck finding your new ride.
Nelmo, thanks so much for sharing your pictures with us. I spent 7 years in Suffolk with the USAF and your pictures bring back so many good memories! Still miss 'my' local, the Six Bells outside Bury St. Edmunds. Thanks again!
Hey Bill. I'm a newbie myself and bought a DCT model earlier this year. I had two concerns before I bought mine: cc's and seat height. Regarding the seat height, once I sat on it and rode it for a few miles, I wasn't worried anymore. FYI, I'm 5' 9", 30" inseam. I was worried that without both...
JohnBoy, what size MadStadt did you go with? I have a tall CalSci that is cracking around one mounting hole. MadStadt recommended a 20" for me (5'9" 30" inseam)
Tim
Hey Mr. Homer! Welcome. I retired from RAF Mildenhall after my 20 years. Spent 7 years there but moved back home to NY when I retired. Really miss the UK and all my friends over there. Not to mention my local....The 6 Bells! Cheers!
These look great! Since this thread is just over a year old, I wanted to ask LittleEd and Maxou723 if they've changed anything from the original design and how they're working? If one of you can send a parts list I'll probably build my own asap. Thanks for sharing the design!
Greetings from Upstate New York. I just got home from my first ride on my 2012 NC700x DCT ABS. It was awesome! I look forward to learning about this bike and about ridging in general from more experienced riders on this forum.
