Motorcycles are not about need, they are about want, lust and desire :D Get what makes you weak in the knees, get what puts a grin so big on your face that it makes your cheek pads hurt a lil. Get the one that doesn't leave you wanting more.

I have several friends that have just bought FJ-09's. They all love them and are fantastic bikes. But the FJ-07 won't have DCT... that's about the only place the NC700 has a leg up on it unless you actually care about a small difference in mpg.

The Vstrom is quite a bit taller than the NC as well. My wife couldn't even get it off the kickstand. For ME, I'd take the new Vstrom over the NC in a heartbeat. But for my wife, the NC seems to be the perfect bike, and no DCT option on the strom.

I swear my 1200GS Adv goes up on the stand easier than the NC. Just stand on the lever and it goes up nice and smooth. Sidenote... when packed for a trip the GS balances on the center stand, both wheels off the ground :cool:

Some of the stuff isn't even scratched and dented... just returned. I got my tent for 75% off... the reason for return was "too heavy". It was clear that it had never been setup. Sweet deal :)

I wanted to like these. From some angles, they are the best looking hand guards out there... but the extended bar end length and the apparently excessive forward reach seems unacceptable. You could where Hulk gloves and still have room to grab levers behind these.
