I'm 6'0" and the bike fits me well. Once I started riding more than an hour in a stretch I got bar risers and extended pegs, my back and legs are much happier. You'll probably be good tooling around town, but I'd recommend the same parts if you plan on longer rides.
I installed an Auxbeam H4 Eagle on my bike. I have a few different LED bulbs and fog lights across my vehicles and am happy with all of them. The Eagle doesn't have any box to strap down like most LED or HID setups, it drops in like installing any other halogen bulb.
I just dropped an Auxbeam Eagle H4 bulb in my bike. It attracted me because there is no ballast to tuck away. I already had the best halogen bulb I could find, so this isn't leaps and bounds better than what I already had, but still noticeably better. It is leaps and bounds over the cheap bulb...
When I did a BMW demo day I was kicking the side cases as I got off and on the bike. The rep taught me a trick of mounting the bike like a horse. Left foot on the peg, squeeze the front brake, throw your leg over. Do the opposite order to get off. It made a world of difference and I've done it...
I just ride everyday. Most days my commute is only 10 minutes each day. Then I do a 5 hour round trip at least 3 times a month. I only park the bike when ice and snow seems imminent. Couple times last year I checked the weather at home and work, forgot that my long commute took me over a hill...
I have a pair Dianese that I'm pretty happy with. With heated grips I ride year round, right down to 0* and plenty of rain in the PNW. I had Scorpion the year before, but they had a time limit on how long they were water proof. RevIt came in a close second for my choices, but I was able to get...
The new 2020 Harley Lowrider. I wanted the 2016, but prices for a 3 year old bike are the same as this one will be new. I want it, but won't commute on it so the NC will have to stay. It doesn't make sense to own 3 project cars and two motorcycles...but I won't give up a car for the bike.
I watched ebay for a few months and was able to scoop up a like new caliper for $33 shipped. It took more time to bleed the line than swapping the caliper. It certainly stops faster. A couple people asked in another group if you could use the factory bracket, but you can't. the one that come...
Auxbeam has pretty good "bang for the buck" reviews, so I went with them. I was impressed enough with the quality that I bought another (larger) pair to use as fog lights on my truck. I have them mounted on the bottom side of the Denali bracket and aimed to match up with the headlight. I wanted...
When I was first shopping bikes I looked at the Ural, since I take a kid with me quite often. The top speed (and the price point) had me looking at other bikes right away. I see way too much freeway to be okay with 70mph with the rev limiter pegged. Other than that I think it would still be...
I'm trying to buy the adjuster wrenches. While everything online says the wrenches are universal I found a couple that say they don't work with the NC. Any ideas what to type into Amazon to get wrenches that will work for us?
To add to the conversation I'm adding fog lights for the first time. After reading this I ordered the sub harness, do I need the relay set too? Also, anyone know the name of the connector on the sub harness? I need to grab a few to hook up the light harness and my heated grips.
I bought a pair of Rev-it boots, but returned them after I found they were so stiff I couldn't feel anything my feet were doing. After that I went and bought another pair of Danner patrol boots with Goretex. Then for the summer I wear a pair of Vans high tops.
I have a top box that gets sprayed on the bottom side, but I've never had any on my back. My legs stay pretty dry from the back wheel (I still get it from the road), but when I have my kid riding with me his legs get pretty wet.
I keep my satchel (or man purse if you prefer) in there. That bag has a first aid kit, edc pouch, wallet, keys, sun glasses, etc. I have a top box to keep my helmet (helmet doesn't fit in the frunk anyway) and work gear in.
I installed a Danmoto exhaust, so now I have nothing to stop my center stand. So far I'e found 2 options, Overracing and Yoshimura. I'm not crazy about the Overracing as it's a bare bolt hitting the stand. I think the Yoshimura option is out, as it likely only works with their exhaust. Any other...
I have the Givi v56 top box and will eventually get V35 side cases. I went this route because of the price vs capacity. The Honda bags just didn't offer enough space for me. My son is begging for the backrest pad for the top case.
