It’s not often that I find myself writing about custom bike shops that flaunt their priorities as ‘paint first, motorcycles second,’ but today we’ve got circa-2016 custom bike shop named MELK on the docket – and it’s literally the company’s mojo.
Based out of France, the shop is devoted first and foremost to the badassery of the visuals, with their popularity being a testament to how well their methods have worked for them. Today’s keen machine to enter the chop block has been given a Ferrari-inspired scheme on top of a 2018 Harley-Davidson Breakout – and even we’ll admit the colors are quite pretty.
Satin and gloss varnishes were used to bring out (or tone down) various aspects of the Breakout’s color run, with ‘Grigio Silverstone,’ ‘Ferrari Satin,’ ‘Rosso Corsa Ferrari Brillant,’ and ‘Vivid Black HD’ being the shades used.
“The unnamed beauty boasts a wealth of mechanical changes, the most important being the Stage 4 S&S engine, backed by a KessTech exhaust system and an Arlen Ness air filter for easier breathing,” states the report from AutoEvolution.
We also see the addition of aftermarket accoutrement from a few Euro brands (Rick’s Motorcycles, Thunderbike, and Cult Werk), with the end result as follows, according to MELK’s official webpage:
All told, a stunning piece of art that brags an equally impressive €45,000 / $49,500 USD pricetag – understandable, given anything with the Ferrari label automatically jumps in price like a rainbow trout in the late spring…feisty things.
