Overlanding enthusiasts know that part of the thrill is the ability to wander off the beaten path to explore remote and off-road areas. The journey itself is just as important as you traverse the terrain to explore and experience the long distance outdoors.
So if you’re looking at taking on an adventure this riding season, you’ll no doubt be thinking about what to pack beyond all the necessities such as camping gear, food, tools, etc. Furthermore, if you’re a techie like some folks on our webBikeWorld team, you’ll probably have considered some sort of portable power station.
We live in a technology-dominated world and while some may argue you don’t need fancy gear to enjoy overlanding, we beg to differ. As you wind down the day and prepare to set up camp, it’s nice to kick back with creature comforts and recharge your electronics for the next day.
Bluetti is relatively new to the industry but has established themselves as a leader in the segment over the past 10+ years.
Their philosophy is to deliver green energy storage solutions for indoor/outdoor in an eco-friendly manner which has prompted a myriad of renewable power products such as portable power stations, solar generators, solar panels, and battery backup systems.

The AC60 is Bluetti’s latest product unveiling. It’s a portable power station that’s built for the outdoors. Adventurers will be pleased to know that it comes with a IP65 rating which makes it water-resistant and dust-proof.
From a design perspective, electrical circuits are isolated and the outlets are well protected with waterproof rubber seals. Those who have gone overlanding in desert conditions will be able to appreciate its ruggedness.
This little unit is roughly the size of a shoebox and takes roughly 40-45 minutes to charge from 0% to 80%, with a full charge in roughly 1.2 hours on AC power. Not too shabby.
The AC60 unit is compatible with Bluetti’s own solar charging kits as well as other panels on the market.

Or perhaps you’re on a grand journey with your adventure motorcycle mounted to the back of your Jeep. If you’ve got room to spare and a desire for “moar powa”, then the B80 expansion is the solution for you.
Like cheese to crackers, it complements the AC60 power station as a versatile and portable backup power source.
You can use the B80 as standalone DC power source since it comes with a USB-A, USB-C, and a car outlet. You can charge this unit on its own or in connection with the AC60.
Altogether, you can hook up two B80 units to your AC60 and get a whopping 2015Wh of power.
To give you an idea of what you can do with the AC60 portable unit:
Bluetti has not announced pricing details but the AC60 and B80 units will be available on their official website and in its Amazon stores by late May. It is anticipated to be budget friendly and comes with a 6-year warranty.
