Just went through my first Conti Motion rear at 6500 miles and down to cords. Last tire was a Michelin PR4, got 12600 on it, stock Metzler was 8400. Going to try the Shinko Raven next. I will report back in about a year to let you know how it does.
On the front I got 15K out the the...
I have the Cycle Gear ones similar to the Barkbusters and they fit fine with my MadStad and Rox Risers. They have both protective ones with the aluminum guards and some that are just the wind/brush deflectors.

I am using cheap 10W LED lights I got from Amazon. When I bought them I disassembled them and sealed them up with silicon sealant to make sure they were water proof, but two years and 20k miles later, they are still working great.

Congrats on the new Zero. I have been looking at them for a while now, even took a test drive back in the spring. However, there are two things that keep me from getting one right now. First being initial cost is still to high for me. Second is battery life. I love the fact they offer a 5...
Here is one I just ordered from Ebay so can't give you a report on the quality or fit yet, but it is a lot less expensive than the name brand ones.

The generic $15 Ebay kickstand extender plates are available for the NC700 now. I ordered one, will report back when I get it.

When I bought my NC700x, there was a 2007 low mileage (3200 miles) VFR800 for the same price as the 2013 NC700 with 3600 miles. I looked at both, and since 95% of my riding is commuting and I was focusing on low cost of ownership, I decided on the NC. My wrists would not have been happy riding...
I'm not sure if it would increase injuries with the strap located where it is, but it would make it more difficult to get on and off without ripping your ears off. I use my straps to get my large ears past the pads, in this case the pads are inside the straps.
Don't completely dismiss Bilt gear. I agree that for a daily rider, Bilt gear is not what to get, but even within the Bilt brand there are bad and not so bad products. Also, the Bilt gear is perfect for the casual rider that doesn't wear their gear more than once a month, which is probably...
I have a pair of Joe Rocket Phoenix pants which I like. They have the very open mesh and decent knee pads. Can put them over my pants or just where shorts underneth (which I do when it is over 100 deg F). Gets me through the Phoenix summer commute just fine.
I think the NC700/750 is probably one of the better bikes to compare to the Zero S or DS in terms of fanctionality, or maybe the FZ-07. The Zero SR a good comparison is probably the FZ-09. With the exception of range and recharging time, the electrics have surpased the small displacement...
Did 16,000 maintenance on my bike. Oil, filter, valves, air filter, etc. One exhaust valve was a little tight, rest were right on nominal. Replaced chain and sprockets too.
