I currently have Dunlop Roadsmart 3 on my NC700, with 12,200 miles on them. Getting close to the wear bars, so will replace once the riding season begins next year. I bought them based on the longevity claims and have been pleased with them. I previously had Michelin Pilot Road 4, and got about...
Check hondapartsnation.com for OEM parts. Their NC700 air filter was $32 plus shipping. DennisKirk.com carries the HiFlo for $19, an Emgo for $26 and K&N for $63 (all plus shipping). My local Honda dealer originally quoted $55, but then came down to $40 (plus tax) when I sighed about the high...
Each year Rider magazine’s selects a Motorcycle of the Year (MOTY) from all the new bikes they’ve tested. They’re changing the process for 2013. Instead of the magazine staff selecting the 2013 MOTY, they're conducting a “People’s Choice” vote on their website (ridermagazine.com).

I'm not a WD40 zealot - I'd gladly use another product that works well and minimizes chain cleaning effort. Most chain cleaners/degreasers I've come accross suggest rinsing the chain with water after application and before lubing. That's at least a 3 step process, if no chain scrubing is done...
I've used WD40 to clean the chain - seems to work as well as anything else I've used, but I follow it with Chain Wax (after wiping the chain clean). I've heard/read so many admonitions about using WD40 alone that I'm reluctant to do so - the Service Manager at my local Honda dealer was the most...
I checked 2 of the 3 Wal-Mart's in town and neither stock any motorcycle products. The auto parts stores in town stock m/c oil, oil filters and spark plugs, but no chain cleaners or lubes. I have to get my chain products from the m/c dealers at premium prices :-(. I haven't checked online...
Since the brackets are 1.5" dia and the frame tube is ~1.4", I had to put something around the frame tube so the brackets would hold. Otherwise the bracket would just spin around the frame tube. I didn't have an old innertube, but did have some rubber patches from an old bicycle repair kit...
I used these with a piece of rubber tubing for my highway pegs. I thought the black looked better than chrome for the NC700X.

No riding for a few days or more
Moved the NCX to the back of the garage, so I could get the ATV snow plow out (again) :(
We picked up 2 feet or more of snow over the past 3 days in N. Colorado! The roads (and now my driveway) are plowed and we're supposed to get warmer temps by the weekend...
1) Your previous bike before the NC
'09 KLR 650 and '01 Shadow 1100 ACE Tourer - traded both for the NCX
2) Just one feature about the NC that got you converted
No 1 feature, but the collection of several - the whole is greater than the sum of the parts
3) One feature about...
No Frunk like the NCX - just a small storage compartment: "The new CTX700 offers a convenient utility compartment that’s in the fuel-tank area, making it easy to reach". The gas tank is also smaller (3.17gal vs. 3.7gal).
See the Honda web-site for more details...
My experience is that inexpensive helmets tend to be noisier, heavier and less aerodynamic than more expensive helmets. In addition, the foam tends to break down sooner in inexpensive helmets.
You can drown out some of the wind noise with helmet speakers or inexpensive ear buds and loud...

Is the width of the Sport SD the same as the Adventure - other than the lower tabs on the latter? Are there any clearance issues between the screen and the mirrors at full steering lock?
What is the screen thickness - I couldn't find any mention of it on the Madstad web site.
I also purchased the Cee Bailey's screen for my NCX, but my experience with it thus far isn't that great. I bought the 22" version, since the 20" version is recommended for those 5' 9" and less and the 22" for those 5' 10" and greater. Being smack in the middle of the breakpoint (5' 9.5" tall...
