I have been running one of these for about 4000 miles with no problems. The tie is supposed to have a very high tensile strength. Installation was simple. I wish I had a spare just in cast I need to take it off and put it back on again.
+1 on the fenda extenda, I have that also. The stock...

Beemerphile, you cost me money every time I log on. I've got the Grease Ninja, 11 bottles of Ride-on on order (at half price) and now this.:)
I chose the DCT without hesitation and have never regretted it for a moment. I've had shifter bikes and I don't miss that part of it. That's funny too because I like manual transmission four wheeled vehicles.
At first I imagined that it was lugging a lot in D mode but I figured out that I was...
I have an HJC CS-R1 (full face) for which I think I paid around $70. I consider it adequate and a bargain. It says DOT on it just like the more expensive models do.
I am having a lot of problems with fogging because I ride to work very early in the dark and frequently in the rain. I like the...
It is 3M automotive tape but I don't know the part number. 3M makes good stuff. Mine is over twenty years old and still works fine. I was a factory rep in another life and traded off products with the 3M rep a lot.
I did the same thing, 3M 1" wide, side to side three times. The tape supplied is crap. Then I put a small bead of construction adhesive across the top (uppermost section) from side to sideto keep the moisture out. That thing is never coming off.
Drilling holes and using bolts/rivets is not...
I normally do oil changes myself but I did buy a maintenance contract to cover the first four visits. On the first visit they did put in 10w40 as that is the only thing the service department uses in bulk. They are using Yamalube which is alright with me.
I did notice the 10w40 on the ticket...
FWIW, I see no advantage to having a low sequence number. Logically the highest number will always be on the newest bike with the most factory updates. This is tempered by the fact that this machine has been in production worldwide for quite some time prior to its release in North America.
I will return a wave with no concern for what someone may be riding so I get in a lot of waves cause it seems to be the thing to do.
That being said, I would be perfectly happy if no one waved. I don't see the point when there are so many bikes on the road. It gets to be a pita. When I am...
Thank you for this piece of very timely (for me) information. Upon reading this I decided to try this and found that it is not all that hard to do. No tools needed, just a little finesse and practice.
Had I not seen your post I would have probably not even tried this.:)
I have been under the impression that Honda has engineered this brake system so that you will have some braking applied to both ends regardless of whether you apply the front or the rear brake control. When you grab the front brake you will get some rear braking along with it and visa versa. I...
I have wondered if it will hold a little more on the center stand than on the side stand. Looks like I will have to wait quite a while to find out with the back order situation on the center stand.
I have the DCT and I love it. I tried the manual program once and decided why bother when the S and D programs work so well. The ABS is icing on the cake.
