At risk of sounding like a terrible killjoy, I'm with Happy here... I live fairly close to a busy intersection and find it hard to enjoy evenings out by the pool when every minute some guy with a straight-piped bobber, a beefed-up V-twin, or a sport bike with some exhaust mod goes by. I...
Wish I had asked this question years ago!!! Thanks, everyone, for your responses! So, I'd always changed my own tires and tubes on bicycles, starting when I was about 10. I guess I was just intimidated by the beefier size of the tires, but it looks like the principles are the same, just with...
Question: (taking advantage of the fact that I'm still a newbie on this forum...) is mounting tires something I should be able to do myself at home? I'm pretty skilled with other technical work on bikes, but I don't know what I don't know, I guess I'm just tired of paying $60 a pop at the...
The Vstream was actually really nice looking, IMO. But not willing to sacrifice functionality. The clip on visor idea seems to work on the same principle, but I just don't want that at eye level, if I can avoid it. I'll let you all know how the Madstad works out.
Thanks, guys, sounds like the Madstad may be the next attempt. I'll get ahold of National Cycle to see about returning the Vstream, then I'll give this a shot.
Ok, I'm having a difficult time finding a good replacement windshield. I've mostly been rolling with the stock postage stamp windshield. I'm looking for just some air deflection so that my neck doesn't have to work as hard at higher speeds, and maybe to cut down on wind noise a little. I'm 6'...
Trip to Point Arena, CA
Took a 2-day, 475 mile trip over to Point Arena, CA - on the northern coast. I did a full writeup on my blog, but here's a couple of teaser pictures for you:
Just had to share this - saw it a couple of weeks ago outside my office. It looks something like a CB750 from the late '70s or early '80s, converted into a trike... and purple...!
Two in one day! (I think...) Saw a silver one in Sacramento on I-80 West near Northgate, around 4:40. He probably would have noticed the trailer abandoned in the fast lane of the freeway, backing up traffic for a couple of miles...
Also, saw a black/black one (could possibly have been a CBX...
Red in Roseville
Just saw a brand new red NCX (no plates, no farkles) getting on I-80 east at Eureka Rd., around 11:30 today. Rider was wearing black, with a green safety vest. Anyone, anyone?
Good advice, SergeantChuck. I'm planning on getting the Sargent seat (shame about the spelling, isn't it?), and they only have a cover for the pillion - I'll end up with the OEM on the back.
For a top case, I've been thinking of Givi, but the Honda one is a nice looking case...
Sounds good, Fratermus - the tail tidy I got is primarily sheet steel, plus an LED light. Someone (not me...) who's skilled with metalwork could probably make their own pretty easily. Good luck!
