This is new territory for little old me..
As much as I have enjoyed having the bike, I feel that it is time for me to move on to other things as I prepare to start a family. The fact that I and my fiancé both work in emergency services compounds our worry about what can happen in an instant...
Just knocked out my valve lash adjustment. Easy as can be, just a bit time consuming. To borrow a phrase my Dad taught me, "Why pay someone to screw it up when I can do it for free?!"
The oil change was due as well, so I knocked out two jobs in one day. Time for a shower!
Edit: My odometer...
Welcome to the deep, dark world of oil threads, Paul! Not sure if you've entered this treacherous land before, but it's unlike any other topic I've ever researched... In the end, follow the oil spec for your machine and your gut instinct. Godspeed, sir!
I've just purchased a set of Shinko 705s in 120/70R17 and 150/70R17 because of all of the positive reviews they've received. They have a great price point as well, which is a bonus. As cheap as they are, I'm thinking they are at least worth a try.
Now I just have to mount them....
@Phx
What key blank did you use to make this? I already bought some knobs from Radio Shack, but will wind up tossing them in favor of this design. It looks brilliant!
Just pulled the trigger on a set of 705's. Decided on 120/70R17 and 150/70R17. Sounds like enough people are pleased with that setup for me to try it, and the price was too good to pass up!
If only I had known about this sooner. Not enough time to secure the shift trades I need to make it. Oh well, I'll keep an eye out for more events like this.
Inspiring, man! Don't know if I'll ever need a setup like yours, as I may need a larger horse for two-up riding before attempting anything close to your epic solo adventures, but this is definitely worth taking note of!
After what seemed like an insurmountable struggle, I almost had everything fixed on the main post. Then suddenly, poof... No idea why the original post went away. Contacted admin to see if there's any way to rectify this...
When a relay coil is energized, there is energy stored in it. As the circuit is shut off, power stops feeding the coil, but a charge remains that can arc across the switch contacts that are controlling the relay. The diode helps dissipate this energy so that there is no arc when the circuit is...
Here's where I'll maintain a mostly up to date log of mods I make to my little rig. I generally prefer function over form, but in some cases may jump on something just because I think it looks good.
Let the continuing evolution begin!
Finally got the post fixed!!
First up, the bike...
I've been a "Member" here for a while now, but didn't realize that I have not actually posted anything until now.
I'm Josh, from Louisiana, and I have a 2015 NC700X that I purchased in May of '15 after graduating from my FD's academy and being sent out to my assigned station. I have about...
