Sorry guys but an NC700x in my color was not available so these are my
two new toys. The G650GS is insanely fast.
2009 BMW G650GS (Only 880 miles on it)
2014 Ninja 300 Special Edition with ABS
Tired of waiting for Rider Insurance to get back to me about my
bike. So went and got a Ninja 300. Maybe not a good choice. I
miss my NC700x but needed something to get around.
The Ninja does have a lot less win buffeting when riding highway.
Other than that it is a different, smaller type of...
I was at my Honda dealer and saw they had what looked like a newer, black
model NC700x. The frunk was locked and they could not open it with the key.
They said they would have to take all the plastics off to get it open.
I think it was a brand new sale model.
Well, hate to post this but it just happened to me. Riding to work at
night there was a deer just walking or standing in the road. When I
saw it in my headlights it looked at me and leaped right in front of me.
I was doing like 45 mph. Hit it straight on. Threw me off the bike and
landed...
I've had the bike for almost two years and 11,000+ miles.
Went out to go to work and it tried to start but wouldn't. Seems
the battery is dead. I put a tender on it and it registered as
charging.
I may try to jump it today. Is it usual for a battery to only last
two years?
Not sure if it is just me or something wrong with my clutch lever. It does
not "engage" until nearly all the way out. Is that normal?
I've been riding bikes all my life and it seems to have too much play. Like
it should engage about halfway or sooner.
Lesson learned. Secure everything to the bike.
I was heading back from Ohio on a 400 mile trip and had
worn waterproof riding pants on the way out. On the way
back it was hot and I did not want to wear them. So I tucked
them under the back seat bag and sinched it down tight.
Miles later...
After 8700 miles on the stock tire it was barely passing. I am heading
on a long trip in a couple of weeks so decided to get a new Pilot 3 tire
installed. ($192 just for the tire from the dealer that includes a mileage
warranty and up to 3 free blowout replacements.)
I can't really tell...
Here are pics of my new AME heated grips.
They are AWESOME! I rode home in 40 degrees
with them on and up to 4 or 5 setting. (Six settings
total. Easily turned on by pushing a button.) They kept
my hands toasty warm. I really like them and they
were much cheaper than the Honda ones.
I...
I went shopping for heated gloves at my Honda dealer (Velocity Cycles) and they had
just gotten in some after market heated grips. They were cheaper than gloves. $139.00
The owner said he would install them for free if I bought them so he can get
someone to try them out. I jumped at the...
I bought the upper wind deflectors that are like $80. Thinking they
would keep some of the wind off my knees on the colder days.
They are very small and I don't really notice that much of a difference.
Perhaps they need to be bigger?
I ride the NC700x through rain and into the winter months down to
around 35 degrees F. It is my main mode of transport.
There are a few friends and co-workers that ride. I think they view me
as an idiot for riding in the rain and cold. They say they are afraid their
bikes will rust or that...
Is it bad to want more than one helmet?
I've had an HJC for about a year and have dropped it quite a
few times, scratched it up, use to to commute via highway and
just generally am rough on helmets.
I can't see having the same beat up helmet for the 5-6 recommended
life of one.
I...
A red NC700X was sold by my local dealer recently. I just saw it close to my
house! (Pennsylvania)
I was riding in a cage with my son who is learning to drive so could not pull over
to say hello. Nice to see another NC700 around though.
Riding some highway but mostly back roads doing 45 mph to 50 mph
in as high a gear as possible. Really relaxed riding. Not much stop and go.
Using 89 US octane ethanol gas.
69.1 mpg
I test rode the new CBR500 from Honda. Not really impressed. It has nice
power but very vanilla. Hardly no sound at all. Not much else to say about it.
I also rode a Honda Fury chopper. That was fun. Nice sound and comfortable
ride. Awesome power. I am not the cruiser type though.
Last...
I find the stock tires way to slippy. I'm not ever doing anything strange with the
throttle or anything. Just normal riding.
If there is anything just slightly slippery on the road the back wheel seems to slip.
I only have 1600 miles on them but I can't wait to change them to Pilot 3's...
