Back in 2019, the House of Ducati got together with Ducati Corse to put parts of their bikes up for Ducatisti to call their own. The initiative was christened the “Memorabilia Project,” – and this year, the brand has included engine components of the Desmosedici GP16.

Admittedly, the chance to become “owners of authentic and certified parts of the bikes used in recent years by official riders in the MotoGP and World Superbike Championships” is a typical tactic of Ducati; as such, we’re anticipating the acquirement of this year’s collectibles to be particularly fierce.

We’re told by Ducati’s press release that each part comes in a dedicated box, complete with a certificate of authenticity signed by both Claudio Domenicali and Luigi Dall’Igna. These parts can be virtually anything that you saw blasting about the MotoGP circuit, from connecting rods, to pistons, to camshafts and more; this year, the engine parts take front and center stage.

A moment of silence for how Ducati’s Memorabilia Project is a bloody brilliant way to upcycle redundant motorcycle parts….or should we say, “motor-upcycle?”

“The Memorabilia can be purchased from the Ducati Store in Bologna, as well as from the entire Ducati dealer network and online at Shop.Ducati.com,” contributes the press release.

“The availability of pieces is limited and requests will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis; it will therefore only be possible to reserve pieces that are in stock.”

What do you think? Would you like to have a part of Ducati’s Desmosedici GP16 on display?
