I have yet to take the nc700x on any dirt but I figure having skid plate will sort of force me to get it dirty. Not sure why the skid plate on the nc700x is so expensive compared to other bikes i.e. Dr650 could be had used for $50. So I shopped around and saw these on eBay.

CROSSPRO RAW ALLOY ENGINE BASH GUARD PLATE SUMP NC700X NC 700 2012-2017 | eBay

I wanted the matte black and it cost $154 shipped to U.K. Shipping it to US would have cost additional $115 which I'll get to later. I have military contacts all over Europe so I shipped it to an U.K. address. My contact shipped it to me via USPS and it cost $60. The reason for the high cost was that the box in they ship is freaking huge!! And it's filled with packing materials!! I mean it's a piece of metal for god sake but I appreciated it.

The skid plate seem to be well constructed. I can't compare it to any other skid plate I had on the nc700x but it's a piece of metal and it beats the plastic cover that came with the bike. Installation is a breeze. Took less than 30 min without studying the instructions. Which is good cause I have to remove it for oil changes and I think valve checks as well.

On the throttle side.

Those are the bolts that removed and also the bracket for the plastic cover.

On the clutch side. Two bolts and two brackets removed.

The box in which it came in. You have to see it in person to see how big it is.

The four bolts that they supplied were little bit on the flimsy side and worst of all were not metric!! Used 1/2 SAE socket to install. It didn't come with washers which I think it would help. So I'll be looking for black washers with black metric bolts for nice clean look. Overall, I like the value that I paid for them and the look on the bike. It now forces me to to ride some dirt to justify getting these! I was sort of worried that there's only two mounting points on each side and none that are towards the end on the clutch side but once it was bolted on, it wasn't going any where. Plus, I'm not looking to go where no man has gone before, just some light forestry roads. Hope this helps someone out there since this forum has helped me so much!

I would take another look at that horn mount and see if it can be rotated at all. Right now it's going to be a good rain catcher! Other than that this looks pretty awesome!

Im considering a crosspro skid plate to. How thick is the aluminium on the bottom and sides?

Have you whacked it on anything yet?

Sadly, none to report. I’ve accumulated about 15k miles on the freeway. I did have few scrapes in the back where I have a turn and is uphill. Here’s the damage.

I am looking for a skid plate suitable for 2018 NC750X manual. Is this compatible with Honda OEM main stand and Givi engine guard?

I’m not sure about the center stand but I’m pretty sure it will work with engine guard. I have sw motech engine guard and they work just fine. You’d have to also check about nc750x as well. Sorry not much help...

I have the SW Motech skid plate but it is about $300. It’s more expensive because of the name and it definitely looks better. I am happy with it. I have had many rock and debris strijes and it has done it’s jobE380BCEF-F95C-4E54-845E-DDB903AAA9CD.jpg

Very good
