i just put my first 500 miles on this nifty machine. :D

already put on a windscreen, center stand, and givi bags.

i do a lot of commuting, already enjoying the narrow profile and smooth ride.

planning to take it to yellowstone NP this summer, through backroads of Oregon and Idaho on the way :)

looking for advice on engine guards. hoping to do a bit of off roading - tips and suggestions welcome.

fwiw, my last bike was a '98 r1100gs, before that '09 dr650se, and many more. i have been riding roads for many years, dirt for just a few.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm sure you've noticed by now the stock tires aren't real good for off road. I've laid mine down a couple times trying to ride on light trails covered with wet grass or mud. I guess I should say clay. I'm in Arkansas.

I thought I'd attach a couple tire links for tires used by other members on the fourm. I'm sure I forgot a couple but the last link is a thread started by OCR and it has a great breakdown.

For engine guards SW-Motech and Givi make em. I have the SW-Motech which came from Twisted Throttle. Twisted Throttle has a decent selection of items for the NC.
Skid plates choices are Hepco or Hondabikepro who is a member here and hand makes skidplates and some other parts. I have his skid plate and folding shifter. Might be getting his new rear rack that replaces the rear seat.

I work on the bay bridge, you might see my RED NC DCT in the parking lot.

Be safe,
