Vespa has decided to up their game by introducing a new heart – one capable of over 23hp – in the newest Gtv.
Thanks to the introduction of the 300 hpe (High-Performance Engine), this year’s Gtv runs a liquid-cooled single-cylinder powertrain, complete with electronic injection and 4-valve timing. All of that punch translates to 23.8hp and 19.17lb-ft of torque.
Not bad at all for a brand that evolved its aerospace roots to complement the modern Italian’s affordable transportation options, huh? (via Vespa Pizzeria)

The press release also makes mention of a slew of updated ingredients; full LED lights draw the eye to a more aggressive design. Racing-inspired top bodywork can be swapped out for the option of an orange unit at the front, the two-tone single-seater saddle shows off the potential for a rigid cover at the back (the same color as the bike), and the “necktie” portion of the bike now carries the appearance of speed by way of a few lateral slots.

Everything now rolls on a new, blacked-out, five-spoke wheel rim – and the brand didn’t just kick a pot of the stuff at the rolling duty. Here’s what else got the matte black treatment:

Naturally, Vespa’s boast of new “hi-tech equipment” is no mere jest; a new keyless system joins the introductions for a knob by the back leg shied to replace the original key switch.
New digital instruments, with features provided by Vespa MIA connectivity (available as an accessory), now dress the scooter’s dash, now capable of carrying information on the following:

Expect the Vespa Gtv to come with ASR electronic traction control and an ABS anti-lock braking system as standard, with two colorways – Beige Avvolgente Opaco and Nero Convinto – featuring a $7,799 USD pricetag, each.
