Insurance Problems

It's funny reading this thread, coz in the UK now you can just go to a certain website and it'll check all the various insurance companies for you and come up with the best quote...... Excellent stuff.

I wish there was something like that in the US...

The insurance info was appropriate and appreciated, but the presentation was poor. If you'd like to edit it you may repost. For your reference: http://nc700-forum.com/forum/site-announcements/2797-abbreviations-vulgarities.html. If you don't agree with the guidelines, then yes, it may be your "last post on this forum."

we are here to help each other, right? i provided valuable piece of information and shared my experience with the rest of the board. i put some time and effort in it. there is no reason to delete whole entire post,if poster was used letter f and asterisks once. as a moderator you might want to cut\edit it,(if you(or someone else) are somehow got offended) but deleting whole thing? what's the point? yes,it's easy and feels great to be 'in charge' -just press one button, done deal...but does this HELPS ANYONE? do you even know what i mean by using f and **? it could be ANYTHING :free, fruit, freedom, a FARMERS..you got some power here? use it wisely next time

Foremost insurance. Call them directly, forget using an agent. Their corporate is based in Michigan. Was cheapest, with highest premiums (250k) that I wanted. State farm was second, progressive was way out there, and geicos quote was orbiting The farthest planet from the Sun, (Neptune)

Every state has it's own insurance rates, rules, and regulations. So a company that is good rates in one state, can be not good in another state.

Only one solution, call them all at every renewal because this is a liquid subject that just keeps flowing along. No good answer, changes as so as you figure it out!8.jpg

I have been told that Amica is probably one of the best, so I'll be contacting them shortly.

Don't hold your breath on Amica. I've had them for ~35 years - 2, 3, and 4 cars at a time, house, umbrella. (They are, indeed, pretty much always at the top of the Consumer's Report heap.) When I was thinking about buying, called the state office & they said sure, no problem. Call when I know what I'm actually buying. Did that 3 mos later and then they were very sorry but Amica did not insure motorcycles.

The dealer referred me to a couple of agencies who dealt with multiple companies & I called them both. The prices were all over the map as was the coverage. The instructor for the basic rider course had given those in the class a card for an Allstate agent in the Phoenix area who is familiar with motorcycles.

I got what seemed like an OK price (about half of my Amica car insurance for 2 cars) from the Allstate agent for better coverage than anything agencies referred by the dealer came up with.

Noticed when I sold my 2007 FJR and added the NCX the premium went up $22 with Allstate(GA). Renews in Nov. and I'll check other carriers. Only thing I can think is their loss history isn't enough to figure what to charge. From looking at this forum I'd guess the average NCX rider is experienced and long in the tooth like me therefore a better risk and deserving good rates. Usually the companies that advertise more charge more(Progressive).

I agree totally with OCR.

Here's several other nearly identical (rambling, inconclusive) insurance threads already on this forum, in case anyone needs more "data points":

With the power of modern computers this still should not be a problem. A modern 'set up' should be able to provide you an instant quote no matter where you live in the country. I agree that insurance rates are fluid that's why in the UK they will only accept doing quotes if you have less than 4 weeks to renewal. The quote is then valid for 30 days.
We have several sites that can so this:- comparethe market. Com. Confused.com....
