So I'm trying to get a consensus opinion on whether or not the side-stand on the NC700 is strong enough to stand up to an occasional side-stand turn or pivot.

When the bike goes into shed storage for the Winter I would like to be able to turn it flush with the rear wall. A web search of info on using the side-stand for pivoting the bike is split, with some doing it regularily and other saying the stand isn't strong enough to take the full bike weight while pivoting.

Thoughts?

1. It's not designed for so much weight (note in the manual)
2. You don't want to brake it. It's part of the frame that means it will be very difficult to repair it.
