Ever since Moto Guzzi released their V100 Mandello tourer, riders around the world have gone gaga for the bike’s nimble handling, sharpish braking power and, of course, those iconic, world-first adaptive aerodynamic deflectors.

Today, we’ve got serious evidence that suggests we’ll be getting a sweet new V100 variant before 2023 comes to a close.

How do we know?

“In a corner of [the Moto Guzzi] booth, it showcased two wheels on a platform in front of an LCD display with the word ‘Stelvio’ plastered above it,” explains coverage from RideApart.

The new variant would be named after the iconic “Stelivo Pass” – a route in northern Italy bordering Switzerland at an elevation of 2,757 meters, and the highest paved mountain pass in the Eastern Alps… naturally, a popular destination for riders near and far.

This (more recent) move from Moto Guzzi’s parent company (sourced by Dennis Chung at Motorcycle.com) has sealed the deal for me; with rumor of spy photos showing a forward-facing radar (cruise control potential) and a 19” spoked wheel, the stage is perfectly primed to received a new dual-sport, on-road-oriented ADV lassie.

Moto Guzzi’s most recent Stelvio was a 1,151cc air-cooled beastie capable of great power figures, cushy comfiture and a charming personality – though in 2017, she wasn’t quite competition for more sophisticated competition (cough, BMW’s R 1200 GS Adventure Tourer). Fast forward to Euro4 emissions, and the Stelvio couldn’t be cinched for the following year, so she was discontinued in favor of the (via ADVRider).

The present-day V100 Mandello sports a thrilling 1,042 cc (114hp and 72lb-ft of torque) via Moto Guzzi’s first liquid-cooled engine – the perfect punt of power to accompany a new variant for the hills, don’t you think?
