Back in 2021, MV Agusta debuted an adventure bike duo sporting Cagiva bloodlines; this power pair – labeled the Lucky Explorer – was slotted to debut in a larger and smaller sizing: A twin-cylinder Lucky Explorer 5.5 and a triple-cylinder Lucky Explorer 9.5.

With KTM having a 25.1% stake in MV Agusta (and a subsequent say in the fate of both bikes), the 5.5 was abandoned, with MV Agusta’s 9.5 being rebranded.

According to coverage from Motorcycle.com and Motorcycle Sports, Australian certification filings have shown at the Lucky Explorer 9.5 will be re-titled to the Enduro Veloce, thereby avoiding the mess that could result from punting out a “Cagiva” machine. For those of you unaware, Ducati boasts a similar lineage with Cagiva as MV Agusta, though the latter still owns the rights to the Cagiva name.

Given Ducati’s recent movement in further expanding their moto portfolio, it seems a wise decision to not cross lines too closely with a neighboring red, Italian bike marque, don’t you think?

Motorcycle Sports tells us that the Enduro Veloce will be readied for a debut into MV Agusta’s MY2024 ranges.
