No cant think why it would need two, it just felt as though the bore
of the body was too big and so the airflow was to slow, could be wrong
but that's how it felt. I have just been reading the running in thread and
it seems the firing pulses that I could feel disapear after it gets some
miles...
Rode it today and sorry to say I did not get on with it, just one of those things,
one thing I did notice, it responds much better and I mean noticeably so if you
open the throttle slowly, it's as if it would be better with a smaller throttle body.
Going to test ride a S in a day or two, a 2013 mod with 1500 miles on the clock
still got the nobles on the tires, is there anything I should look out for? thinking
more of annoyances, vibes at certain revs that kind of thing, things that you
would rather yours did not do but you put up with as...
I am sure road conditions do play a part not only are the uk roads poorly
maintained but except for motorways we don't have many places were you
can run at a steady speed, in the last few years they have switched to a
different tarmac mix that is much quieter and hopefully better on tires, but...
I always wonder if the tires used for the US market are the same as for the UK one,
as US riders seem to get many more miles from a tire, are they exactly the same
or maybe a different compound in the US?
I too am trying to decide, not ridden any yet, but just looking I would have gone for the X in both,
but sit on them in the showroom and it.s the NC700S or CB500X the others just don't fit me as well,
the CB being the best, fits me like a glove, though the NC700S is not far behind, strange as...
Sutton bank looks tame in the video but I have seen a few trucks, cars and even a Range Rover
that have stalled on the bank, at the top is a picnic site sort of thing, I stopped there one day
for a brew then there was the biggest clap of thunder and flash of lightening I have ever seen...
It's a long stroke twin with a 270% crank and is very low revving, I would be surprised
if you could not feel the firing pulses, and if a little pressure on the clutch did not smooth
it out a bit, to someone like me that as mostly ridden singles and twins it feels smooth as silk
on the other...
The noise may go away when you pull in the clutch but it's not the clutch that makes the noise,
it's the gear box and pulling in the clutch disconnects it from the engine so it stops going round
and no noise, near every Japanese bike I have ever ridden does it to some extent.
As in the earlier post I don't have a NC yet but yesterday I tried the Morini 350, 69 miles from sea level at Home to a bike meeting point
Devils Bridge on winding roads topping out at 400 ft same rout both ways topped up at start and finish could not get another drop in 2.62 ltr
that's 99.67...
If the bearings are worn you will get side play but at the bearing end it will be as though the swinging harm is pivoting
around the centre of the shaft, if it's end float the complete swinging arm will move sideways if it's doing this then it's
likely a wrong spacer or non at all was fitted...
I am thinking of buying the S though I like the looks of the X and have had 3 big
trail'y looking bikes in my last 5 bikes just sitting on them in the show room for me
is enough to tell me at least the S in for me, so they do feel different start by just
going and sitting on both.
Not got a NC yet still trying to make my mind up between a NC700S or a CB500X
but just to muddy the water a bit My 1975 Morini Strada 350 35 bhp at 8000 revs
so not totally out of the ball park as just done 109 UK mpg that's about 90 US mpg
so 100 US should be do able on that if I keep it...
A little over fill is better than under filling, but you can reach a point
with over filling and it's usually quite a bit over were the crankshaft
starts dipping into the oil, this sounds like the engine is about to come
apart and usually the oil makes a bid for freedom through seals
and gaskets.
