    Hanging it up

Thanks all. Yes I've stopped and started a few times over the years but something tells me that new pursuits and adventures will keep me off this time.

    Hanging it up

Well I sold my NC700x last week. Of the dozen bikes I have had in the last 48 years it was the most fun. I am not selling it to buy another. I have decided to quit riding. Nothing unusual happened, I just have been enjoying it less and less. Never had an accident. It is just time to quit. You...

    How LOW can you go????

I raised the front forks in the triple tree about 7/8" which probably lowered the seat about a 1/2". I then added adjustable links and adjustable side stand. I lowered the rear about the same as the front. I felt it was a little too low and raised the rear a couple of times. I probably have less...

Is it over? Ride and no smile!

I really don't desire or need another bike. The NC700x is one of the most satisfying bikes I have ever had. I do think if I had it to do over again, I would have opted for the DCT. Mike, you have probably come closest to the reason: other activities. With more free time I am traveling more with...

Is it over? Ride and no smile!

For the past 12 years, since I started back riding on my first Moto Guzzi, every time I pulled out of the neighborhood I found a big smile busting out on my face. It never failed and I marveled at how much I loved it and what it did for my spirit. This past summer, we sold our house and moved...

    Yearly oil change

I bought a new Lawnboy mower on sale (less than $300) when I bought my new house 17+ years ago. It was not the 2 stroke version but the Briggs and Stratton 4 stroke motor. I never changed the oil and I only had to add a little oil one time. I recently moved to a condo so I sold it to a landscape...

If there was 1 thing you could change or tell Honda about the NC what would it be?

Shaft drive please. This is the first chain drive I've owned in 20 years. A Yamaha Vision and 4 Moto Guzzis. Never did a thing for any of them. I know a chain and related maintenance is not a big deal, but it is almost foreign to me now. I am willing to pay more for an NC with a few mods...

    Honda Service Cost?

Well, I guess it is back to self service for me as well.

    Honda Service Cost?

Went by a Honda dealer and asked about 4K service. They said that it would be about $350 and the 8K service would be over $600. I asked what was included for that price, and they said oil & filter and complete check of the bikes systems. So oil and filter and checking a few things costs over...

    Seen in the wild

I saw one in Roswell GA a couple of months ago. Last year I went to a BMW campout / rally in the North Georgia mountains and saw another NC700 rider from TN attending.

Okay be honest...who has suffered some buyer’s remorse?

No remorse on buying the NC. Some remorse for not having enough time to ride lately but I'm working to remedy that. I've owned several Moto Guzzi's and do miss the shaft drive a bit. The last chain drive bike I had was in the early 70's. I would have paid extra for a shaft drive NC, but I don't...

    Guzzi vs BMW

i've had 4 Guzzi's. That new V7II is speaking to me, but I can not bear the thought of giving up the NC. The only bike I would give up the NC for would be a V7 "baby Stelvio". Less than 450 lbs and with a driveshaft. I could go for that.
