I'm getting a Madstad. I may just ride up to Brooksville to get it. The reason being is that the measurement reference pictures on MS's website seem to have differing lower horizontal planes. Can anyone who has a MS confirm that the lowest horizontal plane of the Madstad screen intersects at apoint equal to the height of the plane across the top of the turn signals as illustrated in the picture? Obviously it would be easier to just order it. Anyhow, if anyone has the time, thanks in advance.

To the Q there have been several versions of the system 2012 - 2021 and I'm not sure the requested information has much to do with performance if the height of the screen aligns with their recommendation. This because of the generous height adjustment in the brackets and the fact that all three versions had the bottom at different heights. The most important IMO measurement is where the top of the screen is in relationship to your upper lip. I have had all three screens on 2 of my 3 NCs. Good results.

I've been there several times and they are very helpful plus a nice discount for local pick up without using a credit card. Perhaps a call ahead to see if they can work out fitting the right height for you.

just realized that Madstad is only 76 miles from my house. If I ever need to replace my Cee Bailey's, it will be a madstad and I will ride there (only 1.5 hours down US41-numerous towns to go thru).

I have found that if the top of the windshield is on the same plane as the tip of my nose, I get less head buffeting/noise.

Hey MZFlorida, let me know when you are going to be in Brooksville. I may be able to get away and meet up for lunch. I am going to be in Indiana April 5th to ?

Well meeting up settles that for me. I’ll call today and work out a date. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

My Harley buddy would kill me if he did not get invited and he never says no.

Well, no more drive ins to Brroksville. They grew too much to do that, which is good news for them. I have to order it. They said that owners can pick up there but nothing more.

But can we all set up a meetup?

Thanks for the help everyone. I ordered the 22 inch in light grey. I asked for the frosting to be deleted, if it is safe to do so.
Before the frosting even existed on the Madstad product, back in the early days, I found it necessary to paint the back side of the lower 2 inches of the windscreen with textured black paint. It also helped to paint the lower edge to stop the light conductivity up through the screen. Blocking the headlight glow and reflection with frost or paint is only necessary if you ride at night.

I generally don't ride at night except on the C400GT around the subdivision. But, I'm getting the bike ready for the longer trips I have planned. Though I'll still try not ride in the evening, you never know what hand you'll be dealt.

Yep. In large part due to the widespread presence of roadside wildlife in my area, I rarely ride at night anymore.

I haven't found it necessary to paint it or have it frosted and I ride a fair amount at night but I think it depends on how low the bottom edge is situated. I recall a thread where some owners lowered the screen by drilling new holes for the mounting brackets.

Several years ago when I attempted a Bunburner 1500 on my 2015 NC and because about half of it would have been ridden at night I used painters tape on the back side of the lower part but turns out it wasn't necessary to be permanent. That particular bike had the larger screen that came with the second generation NC700X system pictured on the web site. (Guy in blue tee shirt is me)

That's actually pretty cool!
They asked in this forum for someone to let them prototype a new system for the NC700X. Three of us were there the next morning....... and all three left with a free windshield made for our respective heights.

My jacket and gloves were not pictured.
