    OEM Heated Grip Removal?

Has anyone removed the left OEM Honda (glued-on) heated grip without damaging it? I'm afraid that my usual ham-fisted method of inserting a thin blade screwdriver and pouring acetone between the bar and the grip will damage the heating element. Suggestions sought!

Creating a dedicated key for the storage compartment

Great ideas here. I'm in the U.S. and my ignition has no electronic immobilsr built into it. I simply want to get a cheap replacement key made. If I understand this thread correctly... I will need an Ilco 265 or HD109 for the U.S. ignition. And for the frunk, I can use either the above, or...

Seeking BASIC Electrical Advice, possible blown relay

Thanks all... Silverhound, you read correctly. The LED inline fuse is 15A, so no surprise that the Honda accessory fuse blew first as it is only 7.5A. Anyway, now that I have stripped my red bodywork off.... does anyone want to swap? My red, for your white, silver or black? BTW, it's all good...

Seeking BASIC Electrical Advice, possible blown relay

Thanks, so I'm guessing that I'll have to remove that freakin' side panel again(?) And...can the black wire (ground) go directly to the negative battery terminal?

Seeking BASIC Electrical Advice, possible blown relay

While hooking up some auxiliary LED driving lamps into the Honda auxiliary harness, I discarded the kit supplied illuminated switch and substituted a non-illuminated toggle on/off switch. The illuminated switch had 3 prongs to accept 3 wires from the LED light harness. Two of the three LED...

    NC700x Light Bar...Handcrafted

Today I painted everything black and did the mechanical installation. The wiring will wait until I've put a few miles on the bike to see if everything remains solid, which I anticipate. Speaking of the wiring, bear in mind that the kit was made for behemoth off-road trucks, so I'll have to cut...

    NC700x Light Bar...Handcrafted

Some progress made today. I've reinforced the plate to which the lights are attached and I think the mounting point is adequate. I'll be doing a few shakedown rides and evaluating everything. We'll see....

    NC700x Light Bar...Handcrafted

Okay. Plan B here.... Instead of Piece A bending down and forward to rest on the headlight snout it will loop back over itself and over the frame rail which is directly beneath the headlight. It will still bolt into the two holes as before, but now it will be supported additionally as it rests...

    NC700x Light Bar...Handcrafted

So I've gone on a farkling rampage and wanted to mount up some auxiliary lights, but didn't really care for the Honda light-bar. I decided to have a crack at fabbing up my own. I decided to use the mounting points that the Honda unit would bolt into. These are two holes on a small triangular...

    What Engine Bars ?

Thought I'd stir up the brew a bit! I've used Givi products and generally like them, especially their cases. I installed a set of Givi engine guards on my WeeStrom several years ago, and lining up the bolts, guards and holes was a test of strength, endurance and vocabulary! Sometime later I...

Can Anyone Compare the NC700X to a Vstrom 650?

OP here.... So I've now had my NC700X for three months and put about 1k miles on her! Last week I saw a used Suzuki SL650 Vstrom sitting on a showroom floor and thought I'd take a seat! Yikety-crikety...lifting it off the side stand was like lifting a Sherman tank! Although the weight of the...

Installing Heated OEM handgrips, Request for HELP

Thanks all. After posting last night I fortified my wits with a rum and coke (or two) and went back into the garage. I put aside my "dainty" gloves and did a little tugging and cussing. I guess the connectors will fit beneath the ignition lock mechanism, but just barely. It may not have...

Installing Heated OEM handgrips, Request for HELP

So after several attempts, and getting it partially right at least once I decided to follow the instructions provided by Honda.... Ninety percent done and then I get to the final hook up and there is no way that the connectors between the right heated handgrip and the harness will fit will fit...
