Honda’s All-New Global EV Series Will Debut at CES 2024

Current batteries use rare earth metals that are expensive, so until they change battery technologies, replacements will be expensive. I keep seeing possible replacements being touted, but we'll just have to wait and see what works, and what is just fishing for research dollars.

Update on an old thread where my brother had some dealer issues with a new bike

Back in 2016 I posted a thread about some issues my brother had with his brand new bike. An admin was quick to close the thread so I thought I'd leave it alone a while. Just to let you know, there was no oil in the forks, we ended up having to change the fork seals, and the bushings had...

2022: What did you do to/with your NC700/NC750 today?

Installed the sub wiring harness, 12v power jack, and ran the wires for the heated grips. I need glue for the left grip so I didn't actually install the grips themselves, and I need to put it back together. Way too many fasteners and not all of them are the same.

This "slow, boring, commuter bike" reignited my love of riding

Instead of just riding on weekends, I'm a lot more likely to ride the NC every day just for normal stuff. If I need to run to the store for something, I don't have to take the car. That's more than you can say about a sport bike, or a most cruisers. Plus negotiating parking lots is a lot...

    Rider Magazine April 2019 Issue

They should state what bikes the reviewers own in the articles. If it says they own a $15,000+ exotic, I'm pretty sure they aren't going to care for a daily commuter.

(Nc700) characteristics of a 270 degree parallel twin.

Early twins used the 360 arrangement, but counter balanceers used to reduce up/down vibration then created forward and backwards vibration. Using the 270 arrangement, reduces the vibration intensity since the pistons aren't reaching the top or bottom at the same time. This lets manufacturers...

    Rider Magazine April 2019 Issue

This is exactly what I tried to tell a salesman at a dealer a few months ago. Honda came out with that for beginning or returning riders line, and they have been stuck on it ever since. If you want to ride more, get a bike that you can run errands on, and that is comfortable in traffic.

    Fousey's new NC paint job....

The color and some of the farkle... ok. Not my thing but it doesn't look bad. Not sure about putting the warhawk scheme on an NCX though. Him, I've seen his videos before. He never stops talking. N E V E R !

    Porn???

It's probably an advertisement. I've had it happen on several sites. My virus checker scans everything before loading and I've performed full scans with multiple anti-spyware tools. Nothing. I added entries to my adblocker and I think that did the trick.

    Back to Honda

Welcome from Nebraska, awesome to hear you are still riding!

How robust is the NC's alternator for powering heating clothing?

I just have heated grips, but I drive a cage when it gets to sub freezing temps.

    No left on red?

If the light doesn't change, how do you know when a cycle has passed?

    No left on red?

I had a light between work and my apartment in Salt Lake City that NEVER switched for me when I was on my bike. I'd leave work at 2:00 a.m. after a marathon programming session and have to sit there until nobody was around to drive through.

    Choose your biking buddies carefully

I've ridden with large groups and can't say I like it. There was talk before the ride of staying legal and then half the group blasts off at 90 MPH half way through the ride. Some of us that were trying to stay legal had no idea where we were supposed to be headed (a pizza place southwest of...

Difference Between the NC 700 DCT and CTX 700 DCT!

You are correct, I am wrong. There is .7 degrees difference in rake. But changing the rear height slightly or raising/dropping the forks in the triple clamps will change that much. From the look of the trail, the CTX must have different triple clamps.

Difference Between the NC 700 DCT and CTX 700 DCT!

I don't have a CTX and I've never ridden one. But I used to own a Shadow so I am familiar with a similar riding position. I currently own a VFR and an NCX. Both NCX and CTX share the same motor and frame. The steering angle (Rake) of the NCX and CTX is basically the same, and the CTX is...

    Chain Breaker & Riveting Tool

I don't have any experience with that one, but it's gotta be more durable than some of the others out there. Some of the break on the first use.
